SUMMARY:

This position, under the direction of the Revenue Audit Supervisor and Revenue Audit Manager, plays a pivotal role in our daily accounting functions. The function of this role is to identify and prevent discrepancies and ensure casino activities conform to company policies and procedures. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Auditor Level 1:

  • Collect and sort daily casino revenue paperwork.
  • Organize and examine receipts and audit paperwork for discrepancies in procedure or variances. 
  • Complete audits on gaming revenue, non-gaming revenue, and cage transactions. 
  • List discrepancies for adjustment while performing audit.
  • Maintain the functionality of audit spreadsheets and notify supervisor or manager when corrections need to be made.
  • Run time sensitive daily and month-end reports.
  • Conduct month-end gaming inventory counts. (i.e., Cards, dice, bingo paper, etc.)
  • Complete Audit Logs
  • File gaming and non-gaming audit paperwork while adhering to LCCR’s document retention policy and procedures.
  • Dispose of Revenue Audit documents while adhering to LCCR’s document retention policy and procedures. 
  • Audit storage boxes to ensure that all audits are stored properly.
  • Create batches for supervisor or manager to review for posting.

Responsible for internal control and compact compliance regarding operations and ensure compliance with regulation of the Tribal Gaming Commission.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Auditor Level 1:

Language Skills:  

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.  
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills:                    

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and taxes.  
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

 

Reasoning Ability:   

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.       

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Flexibility regarding work schedule. This position will require a schedule that is set to accommodate some or all weekend days.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • 85% Auditing Accuracy.
  • 85% Auditing Timeliness.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Auditor Level 1

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Accounting or business credits preferred.
  • Accounting or revenue audit experience preferred.
  • Gaming audit and/or gaming industry experience preferred.          

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Able to obtain a Class III gaming license issued by the Squaxin Island Gaming Commission.
