Powder Coat Technician
Description

Summary:

Powder Coat Technicians are the hands-on team behind our powder coating production line — preparing parts for coating, masking critical surfaces with precision, operating the equipment that applies the finish, and inspecting and finishing parts as they come off the line. This is fast-paced, detail-driven manufacturing work where accuracy and consistency matter at every stage. We're looking for people who already bring hands-on coating, painting, or production-line experience and are ready to contribute from day one.

***We are looking for experienced powder coat operators***

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform assigned production tasks at one or more stations along the powder coating line — sandblasting/surface prep, precision masking, powder application, or unloading/unmasking finished parts — based on experience and business need
  • Follow work instructions, part specifications, and quality standards specific to the assigned station
  • Prepare, inspect, mask, coat, or finish parts as assigned, ensuring each part meets the quality standard for that stage of the process
  • Inspect parts at each stage for defects, damage, contamination, or masking/coating issues, and flag or escalate as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate production counts, batch records, or quality documentation as required by the assigned station
  • Communicate and coordinate with team members at adjacent stations to maintain consistent line flow and avoid bottlenecks
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at whichever station is assigned
  • Support inventory and supply needs relevant to the assigned station (blast media, masking materials, powder, etc.)
  • Participate in training to build skills across multiple stations and support progression within the Powder Coat job family (Powder Coat I, II, and III)
  • Identify and report minor equipment or process issues; escalate larger issues to the Supervisor/Lead
  • Support onboarding or peer training of newer team members as experience develops
  • Contribute ideas for process improvement, defect reduction, and efficiency across the line

  • Vocational or technical training in industrial coatings, painting, or a related trade a plus
  • Experience with quality inspection, batch documentation, or traceability procedures a plus
