CLASSIFICATION TITLE: Crew Worker (Concrete Experience Required)
PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
Performs skilled and semi-skilled labor in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of concrete infrastructure and other public works projects. Work includes the construction and repair of sidewalks, curbs, gutters, driveways, concrete pads, and related structures. The position requires dependable and hardworking individuals who can safely perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments and effectively operate a variety of hand and power tools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Prepare work sites for concrete placement, including excavation, grading, and form setting.
- Mix, pour, spread, and finish concrete surfaces according to project specifications.
- Install and remove concrete forms, reinforcement materials, and related structures.
- Repair damaged concrete sidewalks, curbs, gutters, ramps, and pavement.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with street, drainage, and infrastructure maintenance projects.
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform traffic control duties and maintain safe work zones.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform preventative maintenance and basic servicing of equipment.
- Assist other crew members with general labor and construction tasks as needed.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
