The Communication Specialist supports the development and delivery of compliant and compelling oral and written external and internal communication including but not limited to proposals, technical documents, newsletters, marketing materials, and media inquires. 

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Managing internal and external communications to ensure consistent messaging and brand image.
  • Creating, editing, and distributing engaging content across various platforms, including proposals, newsletters, social media, and the company website.
  • Collaborating with different departments to gather information and ensure accurate and timely communication.
  • Write, edit and proofread communication materials, including proposals, press releases, articles, blog posts and social media content.
  • Manage the company’s social media presence, including content creation, posting and engagement.
  • Prepare internal and external documents and communications, including proposals, memos, newsletters and presentations for employees and stakeholders.
  • Create visually appealing and effective external communication materials.
  • Plan, organize and support corporate communication events and public appearances.
  • Review and adhere to client requirements, evaluation criteria, and submission guidelines for Request for Proposals.
  • Write clear, compliant, and compelling proposal narratives, executive summaries, and tender responses.
  • Track progress through requirements matrices and ensures packages are edited and formatted before final submittal.


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Technical Editing, Journalism or Business.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Communication Specialist, Proposal Writer, or a similar role in communications.
  • Strong understanding of corporate communication principles, media relations, public relations and crisis communication strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • High level of creativity and strategic thinking, with the ability to develop innovative communication solutions.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into persuasive arguments.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to handle tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects at once.
  • Capability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with utmost integrity and discretion.
  • Adeptness to work under pressure and handle crisis communication. 

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Experience with communication analytics and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with media professionals.
  • Strategic thinker with creative problem-solving and strong analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge of social media management, digital marketing and SEO practices.
  • Familiarity with the latest tools and platforms, including social media, content management systems and graphic design software.

Physical and Working Conditions


Light work; significant degree of walking and standing, lifting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently. Individuals must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
