Welder
Description

  

The Welder will be responsible for production welding a variety of assemblies, setup, operating and light maintenance of production equipment. 

   

Essential Functions

  • The Clad Operator is responsible for operating, programming and maintaining one or more types of computer numeric-controlled welding equipment. 
  • The Clad Operator will be responsible for upkeep and corrections to programs, and macros. 
  • May      be required to operate multiple machines simultaneously.  
  • Selects appropriate settings and adjusts as necessary to welders/clad machine.
  • Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques, using established weld procedures. 
  • Will read and interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. 
  • Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.  
  • Required to operate electronic PWHT equipment. 
  • May perform light maintenance on plant equipment where needed, i.e., startup/shutdown, maintain inspection records and keep work environment clean.
  • Operate small electric/air hand tools.
  • This position will require long periods of time standing, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching with hands and arms and overhead work.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements

  

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Completion of a welding trade program or certification course (AWS or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years previous experience in related job and industry and /or training
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Current Forklift certification
  • Demonstrated good math skills
  • Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills in English
  •  This position will require long periods of time standing, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching with hands and arms and overhead work. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
