As a Home Performance Expert (Outside Sales), you will help homeowners improve the comfort, health, safety, and energy efficiency of their homes while helping Barron continue to grow as the premier heating, cooling, electrical, and plumbing service provider in Northwest Washington.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and helping homeowners find solutions that fit their needs. You’ll meet with homeowners in their homes, evaluate their comfort and home performance needs, and recommend solutions that go beyond simply replacing equipment.
At Barron, our Home Performance Expert (Outside Sales) will:
- Meet with homeowners to understand their comfort, home performance, and energy-efficiency needs.
- Provide a customer-first sales experience focused on education, trust, and finding the right solution for each home.
- Evaluate opportunities to improve home comfort, indoor air quality, energy efficiency, and overall system performance.
- Think beyond the immediate repair or replacement need to identify additional solutions that may benefit the homeowner.
- Present recommendations and solutions clearly and professionally, helping homeowners understand their options.
- Understand basic duct design, airflow requirements, and home performance principles.
- Complete accurate sales proposals, documentation, and required job information.
- Ensure sales opportunities are properly communicated and coordinated with scheduling and installation teams.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with homeowners and unsold prospects.
- Provide customer follow-up after installation to help ensure a positive experience.
- Support quality control by addressing customer questions or concerns following installation.
- Maintain strong communication and working relationships with technicians, installers, sales team members, and other departments.
- Use sales and performance reports to monitor results, identify opportunities for improvement, and work toward established goals.
- Support showroom coverage and other assigned sales activities.
- Arrive on time and prepared for every scheduled sales appointment.
- Maintain a professional, Barron-branded appearance while meeting with customers and working on job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and sales equipment.
- Be comfortable accessing attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and other areas of a home when needed to evaluate home performance.
- Support the training and development of new Home Performance Experts when requested.
- Willingness to travel to accommodate all Barron service areas

Experience & Qualifications:
- 2+ years of sales, HVAC, home performance, construction, or related industry experience is preferred but not required
- Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to confidently present recommendations and explain solutions to homeowners.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- High School Diploma or GED
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment drug screening
Compensation:
- Full-Time
- Commission-based compensation
- 8% commission
