VOA is hiring a Community Manager to lead operations at affordable and supportive housing communities in Spokane.
This position is ideal for someone with a background in housing operations, apartment management, resident services, leasing, hospitality, customer care, or community development and someone who enjoys creating welcoming environments where people can thrive.
As a Community Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining quality housing, supporting resident success, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering positive community engagement. You'll work closely with residents, maintenance staff, and service providers to create a safe, respectful, and well-managed living environment. Beyond property operations, you'll help support individuals and families working toward housing stability by creating communities that promote long-term success, dignity, and belonging.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Overseeing daily operations of residential housing communities
- Facilitating applicant intake, leasing activities, renewals, and move-in coordination
- Ensuring adherence to affordable housing guidelines and funding requirements
- Managing resident records, certifications, and required documentation
- Conducting unit inspections and collaborating with maintenance teams on repair needs
- Monitoring rent collection and maintaining accurate occupancy and financial records
- Responding to resident concerns and navigating tenancy-related issues with professionalism
- Partnering with case managers, supportive services staff, and community resources to help residents maintain stable housing and achieve their goals
- Supporting housing retention efforts and promoting successful tenancy
- Maintaining attractive, safe, and compliant properties that residents are proud to call home
- Supporting community-building efforts that encourage stability, connection, and resident engagement
Qualifications
To thrive in this position, you will have:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to maintain required automobile insurance
- Ability to successfully complete background screening requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Experience in property management, housing programs, leasing, customer relations, hospitality, social services, or a related field
- Strong organizational, communication, conflict-resolution, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
Preferred Experience
Additional qualifications that will help you stand out:
- Knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, or other affordable housing programs
- CAM, CPM, ARM, or similar industry certifications
- Experience working within supportive housing, behavioral health, homelessness services, or community-based programs
- Familiarity with property management software and compliance tracking systems

Pay & Benefits
$25.00 per hour
