McGill Hose & Coupling is a leading distributor of hydraulic and industrial hoses and a custom hose assembly shop. Family-owned since 1962, we have locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Our East Longmeadow facility is AS9100D certified. As part of the Fabrication team, you'll handle a wide range of tasks that keep operations running efficiently. Typical duties include making hoses, maintaining production orders, and organizing and inspecting inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify hose and proper fittings, as well as locate the correct crimp specs for each assembly.
- Compare picked parts to the bill of material on the production order for accuracy.
- Make sure each assembly is measured, cut, assembled, crimped, tested and tagged correctly.
- Build and repair assemblies to the correct standard under our AS9100D Quality Management System, recording test information accurately on the traveler.
- Safely test hoses and assemblies.
- Operate the laser etcher, light fabricating hand tools, and materials handling equipment, welder or forklift as needed.
- Escalate any barriers to production flow to management right away.
- Report safety issues, non-compliances, injuries and near-misses immediately.
- Follow all safety requirements, use proper PPE at all times and keep a clean, organized work area.
- Assist other departments as needed.
Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of warehouse experience
- Strong measurement skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
- Ability to quickly learn warehouse operations, products and equipment
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; able to pass a background check and/or drug screen
- Hose assembly experience and forklift certification a plus
Education
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
