Description

Hope Media Group is a multi-brand ministry. Every story we share, every event we host, and every song we play is done to engage people to love Jesus, serve others, and spread Hope. Hope Media Group is the home of KSBJ, WayFM, Worship 24/7, Vida Unida, NGEN radio. Way Loud, Way New, Way Back, Gospel 24/7, God Listens Prayer App and Hope Events. We invite you to apply and become a part of our growing ministry to Love Jesus, Serve Others, and Spread Hope. Our team describes our environment as fun, encouraging, collaborative, engaging, caring, family-oriented, and friendly. We would love for you to join us and be part of what God is doing in our ministry!

Our Next Digital Product is Hope Media Group's first digital product: a music app built for Christians, offering a generosity-funded alternative to ad-driven and algorithm-driven streaming. Rather than inferring what to play from behavioral data, The Next Digital Product starts by asking how you're doing and curates a path in response. It's built to give back to the people who use it, not extract from them.

Product Director

Job Summary:

This role is the business owner for Next Digital Product: accountable for the platform's overall performance, from product and partnerships through growth. It sets the plan that content, rights, and product engineering work toward, and is the point of escalation when those pieces need to align.

Essential Functions:

Strategy and Go-to-Market:

  • Set Next Digital Product's business and platform strategy. Aligning content, partnerships, engineering, and growth around one plan.
  • Own go-to-market strategy and sequencing, from launch through scale.
  • Own the Next Digital Product brand and partner with marketing on acquisition channels and campaigns.

Business Ownership:

  • Own the P&L: revenue performance, cost discipline, and the path to sustainability.
  • Hold the product organization accountable to growth and engagement outcomes, not just feature delivery.
  • Shape how the Next Digital Product earns: subscription tiers, giving programs, sponsorship, and pricing.
  • Define the measures the business runs on, and work with data science to keep them honest.

Team and Leadership:

  • Hire, lead, and coordinate the roles that build and run Next Digital Product's content and partnerships, growing the team as the platform scales, based on budget allocation and CIO approval.
  • You serve as the Primary Representative for Next Digital Product to Hope Media Group's executive leadership.

Risk and Stewardship:

  • Manage vendor and consultant relationships that touch product or business strategy.
  • Own risk management for the platform: track what could keep it from working, and mitigate it.
  • Balance headcount and budget responsibly alongside growth as the team comes online.

Demonstrated Faith:

  • Committed to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Grounded spiritually and biblically literate
  • Comfortable praying for co-workers in team meetings, leading spoken prayer, and participating in ministry prayer meetings and Bible studies
  • Live Christian principles defined by the ministry's Statement of Faith & Biblical Beliefs
  • Participate in on-air fundraisers and prays for donors as needed
  • Passion for leveraging the HMG's media platforms for evangelism and discipleship
  • Exhibit a strong moral character
  • Active member of a Bible believing local church

Experience:

  • 7+ years in product leadership with direct P&L or business-unit ownership, ideally in streaming media, audio, or subscription apps.
  • A track record taking a consumer product from pre-launch through its first years of growth.
  • Comfort owning a number the business is counting on, not just a roadmap.
  • Cross-functional leadership across product, content, and partnerships-adjacent teams.
  • Alignment with a generosity-funded, non-extraction model rather than an ad- or data-driven one.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in Christian/faith media or a comparable subscription-and-giving nonprofit product.
  • Prior work with music licensing or rights-holder relationships.
  • Startup or 0-to-1 product experience at an early stage
  • Heart for Christian ministry
  • Strong moral character
