Description

 The Director, Business Development – Robotics & Physical AI will lead the IoT Products department’s growth strategy for robotics and Physical AI, building strategic customer and partner relationships and advancing complex opportunities from initial engagement through design win and production. Reporting to Neset Yalcinkaya, this role requires strong expertise in solution selling, robotics, IoT connectivity, edge computing, and AI-enabled technologies, along with the ability to collaborate across Sales, Product Management, and Engineering to deliver revenue, gross-margin growth, and scalable market opportunities. The position offers the opportunity to shape Telit Cinterion’s presence in emerging robotics markets, including autonomous systems, machine vision, and general-purpose Physical AI. 

Requirements


  • Develop and execute the business development plan for robotics and Physical AI.
  • Identify and prioritize target segments, applications, customers and partners.
  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline of strategic robotics opportunities.
  • Lead opportunities from initial customer engagement through proof of concept, design win, commercial agreement and production.
  • Establish clear business cases, value propositions and account strategies.
  • Develop opportunities combining multiple Telit Cinterion products and capabilities.
  • Deliver measurable revenue and gross-margin contribution.
  • Proactively identify and engage robotics OEMs, AMR/AGV manufacturers, industrial automation companies, system integrators and selected enterprise customers.
  • Build relationships with both technical and executive decision-makers.
  • Understand customer architecture, product roadmaps, commercial requirements and deployment needs.
  • Translate customer requirements into scalable Telit Cinterion solution opportunities.
  • Lead executive presentations, customer workshops, proposals and commercial negotiations.
  • Drive pilot-to-production conversion and long-term account development.

  • Develop relationships with AI and compute providers, robotics platform companies, sensor and machine-vision vendors, industrial automation companies, system integrators, private 5G providers and cloud platforms.
  • Identify partnerships that can improve Telit Cinterion’s ability to win and deliver robotics programs.
  • Develop joint customer engagements, reference architectures, demonstrations and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Represent Telit Cinterion at selected robotics, AI and industrial automation events.
  • Develop Telit Cinterion’s strategic positioning in emerging areas such as humanoid robotics and general-purpose Physical AI.
  • Monitor customer requirements, competitive developments and relevant technology trends.
  • Provide structured market intelligence and customer feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
  • Identify portfolio gaps and potential product or solution opportunities.
  • Support Product Management in assessing market demand and developing business cases.

 Requirements & Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in business development, strategic sales, partnerships or related commercial roles in robotics, industrial automation, IoT, wireless communications, semiconductors or edge computing.
  • Demonstrated success developing complex B2B technology opportunities.
  • Experience building pipeline and taking opportunities from initial engagement to design win or production.
  • Experience engaging OEMs and technology partners at technical and executive levels.
  • Strong understanding of solution selling and hardware design-win business models.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across Sales, Product Management and Engineering.
  • Ability to operate in an emerging market with an evolving product and solution portfolio.
  • Ability to travel internationally.

 Preferred Qualifications 

  • Direct experience in robotics, AMR/AGV, industrial automation, autonomous systems or machine vision.
  • Existing relationships with robotics OEMs, system integrators or relevant technology partners.
  • Knowledge of LTE, 5G and 5G RedCap.
  • Understanding of embedded compute, edge AI, AI/ML inference and computer vision.
  • Experience with industrial architectures, PLCs, MES, SCADA and factory integration.
  • Experience working with modules, embedded platforms, communication boards or ODM solutions.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree.
