ClimeCo is seeking a full-time Financial Analyst to join our Finance and Operations team.  


Position Description 

Financial Analysts on the Finance and Operations team support the development, analysis, and communication of ClimeCo's financial performance across a portfolio of sustainability consulting, project development, and environmental commodities businesses. This position focuses on budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and business performance analysis, ranging from ownership of financial models, dashboards, and variance reporting, to supporting monthly and annual planning processes, to serving as a strategic partner to executive leadership, project managers, and department leaders. The role is instrumental in translating financial and operational data into actionable insights that support decision-making and drive business performance. 


The ideal candidate is an early-to-mid-career or career-transitioning professional with the desire to strengthen their financial modeling, forecasting, and business partnering skills in a fast-paced environment, and with an interest in taking ownership beyond routine reporting and analysis. ClimeCo operates across advisory services, project development, and environmental attribute markets, each with distinct revenue streams, operational drivers, and financial performance considerations. Responsibilities 

Financial Analyst – Key Responsibilities  

  • Financial Close: Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements, and deliver each close on schedule 
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecast updates in partnership with department leaders 
  • Financial Modeling: Build and maintain financial models to support pricing, project profitability, and scenario planning 
  • Month-End Close Support: Assist with month-end financial close activities, including board reports, bank reports, and KPI maintenance 
  • Internal Controls and Accounting Policy: Ensure compliance with internal controls and support the development, documentation, and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures 
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Support ad hoc analysis for leadership, including investment cases and operational deep dives 
  • Dashboards and Reporting Tools: Maintain and improve reporting dashboards and templates to reduce manual effort 

Financial Analyst – General Responsibilities 

  • Client Relationship Management: Oversee communications with clients, including hosting regular meetings, leading presentations, answering questions, developing follow-on projects, and ensuring client satisfaction   
  • Project Management: Manage projects effectively by delegating tasks, tracking time and budget accurately, proactively communicating issues, supervising colleagues, being accountable for delivering timely, high-quality deliverables, and communicating actionable information to clients and stakeholders through reports, presentations, and workshops  
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Manage QAQC processes during project execution with support of project team and other subject matter experts 
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Develop subject matter expertise across core services in climate solutions (e.g. climate risk, adaptation, decarbonization strategy, environmental attribute markets) to provide relevant and useful advice to clients  
  • Knowledge Sharing: Teach other staff members about subject matter and consulting basics and help colleagues to optimize project processes and find efficiencies when possible   
  • Additional Support: Support team with other project types on an as-needed basis, including life cycle assessments, supply chain engagement, feasibility studies, sustainability reporting, renewable energy strategy, and much more 
  • Business Development: Assist in and lead the development of proposals, including talking to prospective clients, scoping of tasks and timeline, estimating budgets, and gathering additional information to support the sales process 
  • Team Culture: Build a culture of collaboration, intellectual curiosity, accountability, and empathy 
Requirements

Requirements  

Minimum Requirements  

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field (Finance, Accounting, Economics etc.) 
  • 3 - 5 years of professional work experience financial analysis, FP&A, or a comparable analytical role 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), including comfort building and auditing financial or emissions models in Excel 
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements and core accounting concepts 
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment 
  • Rigorous planner, comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, balancing shifting priorities, delegating effectively, and contributing expertise to ensure deliverable quality  
  • Excellent communicator, effective at teaching others, comfortable asking questions when necessary, and exhibits strong public speaking and facilitation skills 
  • Analytical thinker and fast learner; comfortable with both qualitative and quantitative problems, spreadsheets, approximations, and engineering assumptions 
  • Passion for helping businesses address global challenges, including climate change

  • Interest in contributing to a fast-growing global sustainability company 

Desired Skills 

  • Progress toward the CFA or a related certification 
  • Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system 
  • Exposure to professional services, consulting, or commodities environments 
  • Familiarity with BI or visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau 
  • Interest in sustainability, carbon markets, or environmental commodities 

Compensation and Benefits 

ClimeCo offers a competitive salary and bonus structure with benefits including 401(k) with employer match, medical/dental/vision benefits, EAP program, paid time off, holidays, and more. 


The starting salary for a well-qualified Financial Analyst is $ 90,000.00  to $110,000.00 annually base salary and performance-based bonus, considering individual work experience and work location.

Additional Information 

The position is a full-time, salaried and exempt, which is ineligible for overtime pay under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
