Summary:

This position is responsible for supervising the Injection department setup team, on day or night shift. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. The job requires hands-on management. Setup Manager will spend 90% on the production floor/10% in the office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervises 5 to 10 employees during the shift. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the setup team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Hydraulic & electrical troubleshooting required
  • Injection molding experience and machine overhaul experience
  • Mold repair shop skills required
  • Assumes responsibility for shift’s setup time, ensuring excellent quality, safety and housekeeping at all times including scheduled weekends.
  • Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development.
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Serves as a mentor to Setup Technicians, Process Technicians, Molds Setters and Materialists.  
  • Perform accident investigations with safety manager.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
  • Ensure employees stay at workstations until the buzzer, and return to the workstations prior to buzzer sounding.
  • Effectively cooperate with other plant supervisors to ensure successful shift transition
  • Monitor the production floor.
  • Enforce production and quality standards.
  • Performance review of direct reports.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 5 or more years of experience in setup or process technician role.
  • Must possess excellent written communication, data analysis, and project and time management skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word).
  • Must possess organization, multi-tasking skills with the flexibility to manage multiple conflicting priorities and frequent change. 
  • Will require ample standing and walking.
  • May require some bending, twisting and lifting.
  • Must pass background check, drug screening and physical.

  • 40 hours of non-paid time off starts at time of hire and requires supervisor approval to use.
  • PTO accrual starts at time of hire; 1 hour earned for every 40 hours worked. PTO can be used for any reason after 90 days of employment.

Requirements

 Shifts available dependent on current openings based on production needs : 

Day shift M-F 6:00am-4:30pm (with ability to work additional hours and days as production needs)


Salary Description
$20-$27/hr
