Description

Van Der Hout LLP is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our expanding employment and family-based immigration practice. This full-time, in-office position offers an opportunity to work closely with attorneys in preparing non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions, and other immigration-related filings.

 

The successful candidate must be able to review case documents and draft employment-based immigration petitions/applications for filing with various government agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in, and prior experience with, immigration law, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and excellent organization skills. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions, including, but not limited to, H-1B, L-1, TN, E-3, O-1, and I-140.
  • Preparing and monitoring all aspects of PERM cases including drafting job requirements and compiling supporting documents, tracking recruitment milestones and deadlines, communicating with stakeholders, and submitting filings to government agencies.
  • Monitoring status of filed cases.
  • Communicate with clients regarding case processing issues.
  • Running reports to monitor deadlines.
  • Monitoring and updating status of cases using case management and client database systems.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree and Paralegal Certificate.
  • At least two years of paralegal experience in business immigration.
  • One year of prior experience with PERM case preparation, recruitment, preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft suite of applications, i.e. WORD, EXCEL, etc.
  • Proficiency with case management software and other reporting tools and technologies used to manage data. 
  • Client service skills.


Salary Description
$65,000 - $85,000 Annually, DOE
