Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Reports to: VP of Operations

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the company’s physical locations and grounds to ensure they are clean, safe, functional, and visually appealing. This role includes hands-on facility upkeep, coordination of repairs, vendor management, and light construction or improvement projects across multiple store locations.
Essential Job Duties:
- Perform general building maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and light electrical repairs.
- Conduct lawn, irrigation, and landscape maintenance at multiple store locations, mowing, trimming, fertilizing, weed control, and system checks.
- Operate equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, pressure washers, and other tools to maintain exterior spaces.
- Perform pressure washing, sweeping, and cleaning of parking lots, sidewalks, and exterior surfaces.
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and safety issues.
- Coordinate and oversee outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or construction projects.
- Track and prioritize maintenance requests from store managers and corporate staff through established reporting systems.
- Manage small-scale projects from start to finish, including material sourcing, scheduling, and quality assurance.
- Assist with seasonal maintenance such as snow removal, irrigation blowouts, and exterior lighting checks.
- Maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for equipment, systems, and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and report hazards promptly.
- Support construction or remodel projects at store or corporate locations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, vendor work, and completed projects.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or construction work preferred.
- Working knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, irrigation, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, safety documents, and vendor contracts.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with outside contractors.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Proficiency with basic computer tools (email, calendar, POR and SafetyCulture).
Physical Requirements
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40 db loss @500 Hz, 1,000 Hz and 2,000 Hz with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
Repetitive motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
Standing/Walking: Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach.
Working Conditions: Primarily outdoor work with exposure to weather elements; occasional indoor work in shops or offices.
