Position Summary


Palm House is seeking a Seasonal Room Attendant to maintain beautifully appointed, immaculate guest rooms and suites. This role is essential to creating a comfortable, welcoming environment through attentive cleaning, thoughtful presentation, and respect for each guest’s privacy and belongings.


The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in delivering consistently high standards. From preparing fresh linens to ensuring every amenity is carefully placed, the Room Attendant contributes to the comfort and care that define the Palm House experience.


This position is seasonal, with employment anticipated from October through May. Employment is expected to conclude at the end of the seasonal period.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Room Cleaning & Presentation

  • Clean and prepare assigned guest rooms and suites according to Palm House standards, including occupied rooms, departures, and arrivals.
  • Make beds and replace linens, ensuring a crisp, polished presentation.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including showers, bathtubs, toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures.
  • Dust furnishings, vacuum carpets, clean floors, and maintain all designated room surfaces.
  • Replenish towels, toiletries, and guest supplies according to established placement and quantity standards.
  • Remove trash and recycling and transport soiled linens to designated areas.
  • Check each room for cleanliness, presentation, and readiness before reporting it complete.
  • Provide turndown service and assist with deep cleaning projects as assigned.

Guest Service & Privacy

  • Greet guests warmly and maintain a courteous, professional presence.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests within the role’s responsibilities and communicate additional needs to the appropriate team member.
  • Respect guest belongings and follow procedures when cleaning around personal items.
  • Follow hotel procedures for room entry, “Do Not Disturb” signs, and guest privacy.
  • Maintain the security of room keys and access devices at all times.
  • Protect confidential guest information and promptly report concerns to Housekeeping leadership.

Organization & Property Care

  • Keep housekeeping carts, closets, and service areas clean, organized, and appropriately stocked.
  • Report maintenance needs, damaged furnishings, missing items, and safety hazards promptly.
  • Handle hotel furnishings, equipment, linens, and supplies carefully to prevent damage and unnecessary waste.
  • Communicate room status, outstanding requests, and supply shortages accurately to Housekeeping leadership.
  • Follow lost-and-found procedures and promptly turn in items discovered while working.

Safety & Teamwork

  • Follow approved procedures for cleaning chemicals, equipment use, safe lifting, and personal protective equipment.
  • Use cleaning products correctly to protect guests, colleagues, and hotel surfaces.
  • Work collaboratively with Housemen, Laundry, Engineering, Front Office, and other departments.
  • Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining consistent cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Participate in training and uphold Palm House grooming, service, and workplace standards.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements

  • Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or luxury hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and a commitment to guest care.
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate room status, guest requests, and safety concerns clearly.
  • Availability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays throughout the seasonal period.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the role, including prolonged standing and walking; frequent bending, reaching, and kneeling; pushing housekeeping carts; and lifting or carrying linens and supplies, with or without reasonable accommodation.
