South College seeks a (remote) AI & Educational Technology Specialist for a one-year contract,
with a higher education background in educational technology or instructional design and
demonstrated experience implementing AI-supported workflows. Under the direction of IDT
leadership, this role will support the implementation of approved AI tools and improvements to
existing departmental processes to enhance productivity and effectiveness. Successful candidates
will bring experience with LMS environments and course development processes, allowing them
to contribute quickly while becoming familiar with South College's approved AI tools and
departmental procedures.
Responsibilities:
· In partnership with IDT leadership, evaluate departmental workflows and identify opportunities to apply
AI and automation.
· Configure and implement solutions using approved AI tools, LMS features, workflow platforms, etc.
· Apply AI to support instructional design, course maintenance, quality review, documentation, and
educational technology operations.
· Develop reusable prompts, templates, workflows and agents that support consistent and effective AI use.
· Test AI solutions for accuracy, usability, and reliability before implementation.
· Collaborate with the LMS Manager and IT on solutions requiring technical development or system
integrations.
· Develop clear documentation and provide practical training to support staff AI adoption.
· Gather staff feedback, document implementation results, and suggest improvements to existing AI tools
and departmental workflows.
· Follow institutional requirements for curriculum governance, accessibility, data privacy, security, and
approved technology use.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
· Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business, Information Technology, Multimedia Production, Human Resources, Communications or a related field. · 3+ years of related experience · AI certification, completion of a structured AI training program, or demonstrated experience using AI tools in a professional environment (preferred).
