Midway Mechanical Services is a growing commercial mechanical contractor providing HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical services across the western United States. We are looking for an experienced Regional HR Generalist to support employees and leaders throughout our Vancouver/Longview operations. This is a hands-on HR role with responsibilities across employee relations, HR administration, onboarding, benefits, compliance, training, and employee engagement.
The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, comfortable working with employees at all levels, and able to balance day-to-day HR responsibilities with the needs of a growing organization.

Responsibilities
Human Resources Administration
- Manage day-to-day HR activities and provide support to employees and managers.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS and ensure information is kept current.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, including new-hire paperwork, system setup, and exit procedures.
- Support benefits administration and assist employees with benefits-related questions.
- Support payroll administration and help resolve employee payroll issues.
- Assist with HRIS administration and maintain accurate employee data.
- Support recruiting and talent acquisition activities as needed.
- Assist with M&A and employee integration activities as the company continues to grow.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers.
- Assist with employee concerns, workplace conflicts, performance issues, and other employee relations matters.
- Help ensure company policies and procedures are applied consistently and fairly.
- Partner with leadership on employee relations matters and escalate complex issues when appropriate.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
Training & Development
- Coordinate employee training programs and maintain training records.
- Assist with leadership development initiatives and other company training programs.
- Schedule training sessions, manage communications, and coordinate meeting logistics.
- Help track employee participation and completion of required training.
Employee Engagement
- Support employee engagement initiatives and activities that strengthen the employee experience.
- Assist with company events, recognition programs, and other employee engagement efforts.
- Support wellness and employee-focused programs.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Help ensure HR practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain required HR documentation and records.
- Partner with leadership on HR compliance and employee relations matters.
- Stay informed about changes in employment laws and HR best practices and communicate relevant updates to leadership.
- Escalate complex or potentially high-risk HR matters to appropriate leadership or outside resources.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, but not required.
Certifications
PHR, SHRM-CP, CEBS, or other relevant HR certification is a plus.
Experience
- 4–6 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist or HR business partner role.
- Previous experience supporting employees in the mechanical, construction, service, or other field-based industries is preferred.
- Working knowledge of HR best practices and employment law compliance.
- Experience working with an HRIS; Paylocity experience is a plus.
