Field Service Training Representative

D&L Parts Company is looking for an experienced HVAC professional who is ready to take their field knowledge to the next level. The Field Service Training Representative will use their hands-on HVAC experience to train, support, and troubleshoot with our dealer and contractor network. Based at our Corporate Headquarters in Charlotte, this position will provide remote technical support to D&L branches and customers throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. This position is ideal for someone who knows HVAC systems, enjoys helping others solve technical problems, and can clearly explain technical information to technicians, customers, and team members.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and conduct technical HVAC training for installers, technicians, service teams, customers, and staff.
  • Lead classroom, hands-on, and virtual technical training.
  • Provide remote technical support from Corporate to D&L branches and customers throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
  • Assist dealers and customers with product startups, service calls, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and day-to-day technical questions.
  • Identify common technical issues and skill gaps and develop targeted training to address them.
  • Conduct performance investigations involving product quality, installation, or application concerns.
  • Assist with consumer inquiries and complaints and work toward timely, professional resolutions.
  • Develop training schedules, materials, and technical support resources consistent with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate technical assistance logs and professional case documentation.
  • Support Regional and Branch Managers with Customer Appreciation Days, Counter Days, dealer meetings, trade shows, and vendor events as needed.
  • Work with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Customer Service, and other teams to support customers and promote D&L's products and services. 
Requirements

 

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of HVAC field service or installation experience
  • EPA Certification required
  • Associate technical degree or equivalent documented field experience
  • Previous experience training, mentoring, or coaching technicians
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC installation, application, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Trane, American Standard, or related product families preferred
  • NATE or other HVAC technical certifications are a plus
  • Contractor installation license is a plus
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical information in a clear, practical way
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and virtual meeting platforms
  • Ability to create clear and professional technical case notes and documentation
  • Ability to provide effective technical support remotely by phone, email, and virtual platforms
  • Ability to successfully complete required Train-the-Trainer HVAC/appliance courses
  • Ability to travel occasionally for training, dealer meetings, trade shows, or company events
