Description

Under the guidance of the IT Manager, the Systems Administrator II will maintain, upgrade and provide support for company software, hardware, and networks over Nielsen-Kellerman’s multiple locations serving 150+ employees. The Systems Administrator II must be able to diagnose and resolve advanced IT-related problems quickly and be available to respond to escalated help desk requests during company hours, with some flexibility to work outside of normal business operating hours. The Systems Administrator II should be able to communicate technical concerns and solutions to many different people with varying degrees of technical knowledge as well as work with individuals in all departments to assist with technological needs for growth and process improvement. The Systems Administrator II is also responsible for assisting in the maintenance of NK’s system infrastructure, including managing/monitoring firewalls, testing computer equipment, database and system backups, installing and updating security software, installing and rebuilding existing servers as well as other processes. This is at-will employment. 


Essential Functions / Responsibilities 

  • Provide tier II support for all company laptops, desktops, and mobile devices (majority Windows, some iOS, Mac, and Android). 
  • Take lead in the rapid & growing deployment, training, and usage of AI tools for business growth. 
  • Take the lead on data analytics and reporting by utilizing SQL, Power BI, and other tools. 
  • Provide additional guidance and training/mentoring of Tier I support personnel. 
  • Provide server level / Domain level support. 
  • Provide application support for Microsoft 365 & Azure cloud applications, Sage ERP 100 software, SQL databases, MS Office Suite and other corporate applications. 
  • Provide advanced technical support for both hardware and software issues that may arise. 
  • Monitor critical systems daily and respond quickly to any security breaches or usability concerns. 
  • Assist in managing Cybersecurity systems and 3rd Party MDR. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cybersecurity & technical process training for all employees. 
  • Assist in managing inventory of hardware and software assets. 
  • Monitor backup systems and verify that backups have been completed. 
  • Self-initiate IT projects that will improve productivity of the company.

Competencies 

  • Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL database systems, and the ability to generate queries and reports on data retrieved from these and other sources. 
  • Practical knowledge of AI tools such as Claude and MCPs. 
  • Experience in integrating multiples systems together to seamlessly move data throughout the company 
  • Working knowledge of networking protocols and be able to manage and configure Fortinet routers and similar switches. 
  • Knowledge of managing an Active Directory Domain utilizing Windows Servers. 
  • Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems. 
  • Knowledge of virtual and cloud computing, VMware, Hyper-V, Azure and AWS. 
  • Ability to research, plan, and execute projects on time. 
  • Desire to proactively learn new technologies that will enhance the productivity of the company. 

Education and Experience 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical support or systems maintenance role. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree and/or equivalent experience preferred. 
  • Relevant technical certifications a plus. 

Supervisory Responsibility 

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. 


Work Environment and Physical Demands 

Climate-controlled indoor manufacturing plant and offices. Will occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb or balance. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  


Hours of Work 

This position supports the day-to-day business operations of NK and is expected to be readily available to communicate and perform job duties during NK’s normal business hours with flexible scheduling available. On occasion, work is to be completed outside of normal business operating hours to address emergencies and/or special projects. 


Training 

Most training is on-the-job, additional formal training as appropriate. 


Travel / Work location 

Some business travel will be necessary. 95% in NK’s plant in Boothwyn, PA. Reliable transportation required. 


Pay Rate 

This is a salaried position. Pay rate commensurate with qualifications and experience as well as company size. Annual bonus based on company and individual performance ranges on average of 2 to 4% of compensation.?
