Executive Director for DD Waiver
Description

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director to oversee the day-to-day operations, financial performance, compliance, and continued growth of our agency, serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 


DDSD/DD Waiver experience is highly preferred and strongly desired. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in social services, healthcare, behavioral health, disability services, or another regulated environment and understand how to balance quality services with strong business operations. 

Requirements

 

Executive Director Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee overall agency operations and ensure departments are meeting performance, financial, and compliance expectations. 
  • Lead Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) efforts and maintain readiness for state, Medicaid, DDSD, and other regulatory audits. 
  • Identify compliance gaps, operational risks, and areas of exposure and develop practical solutions to address them. 
  • Build and improve systems, policies, procedures, and internal processes that allow the agency to operate efficiently and consistently. 
  • Manage and monitor P&L, budgets, revenue, labor costs, overtime, and operating expenses. 
  • Identify opportunities to control costs, improve efficiency, and maintain a healthy and sustainable profit margin without compromising the quality of services. 
  • Monitor key operational and financial metrics and use data to make informed decisions. 
  • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to managers and department leaders. 
  • Partner with HR and leadership on staffing, employee performance, retention, and organizational development. 
  • Ensure services remain person-centered, compliant, and aligned with the needs of the individuals we serve. 
  • Develop strategies for responsible growth while maintaining strong financial and regulatory controls. 

Executive Director Qualifications 

  • Senior leadership experience in social services, healthcare, behavioral health, disability services, or a similar regulated environment. 
  • DDSD/DD Waiver or Medicaid waiver experience is strongly preferred. 
  • Experience with compliance, QA/QI, risk management, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Strong understanding of budgets, P&L, expense management, and financial performance. 
  • Proven ability to build systems, improve processes, identify operational risks, and hold teams accountable. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
  • Ability to balance mission, quality, compliance, and profitability. 
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to make sound decisions, solve problems, and follow through.
