What you will do in this role:

  • Create and modify SolidWorks parts, assemblies, and detailed drawings for new and existing products.
  • Develop complex geometry using parametric solid modeling, surface modeling, sweeps, lofts, and boundary surfaces.
  • Create detailed patterns and features across curved surfaces while maintaining accurate dimensions and design intent.
  • Translate sketches, reference models, measurements, and engineering direction into accurate, editable CAD models.
  • Prepare dimensioned drawings and CAD files for prototyping, supplier review, and manufacturing.
  • Update designs based on prototype evaluations, fitment checks, and feedback from the R&D team.

  • Demonstrated ability to model complex curved geometry using solid and surface modeling techniques.
  • Experience with 3D sketches, splines, guide curves, sweeps, lofts, and surface trimming and knitting.
  • Ability to create circular and curve-driven patterns, projected curves, and detailed features on curved surfaces.
  • Understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and basic manufacturing considerations.
  • Ability to build well-organized models that can be revised efficiently without losing design intent.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

The extras:

  • Previous experience in the powersports industry, particularly in product development, design, or manufacturing.
  • Experience with laser scanning, reverse engineering, or Geomagic.

  • Familiarity with powersports products and their functional requirements.
  • Technical training in drafting, mechanical design, or a related field.
  • SolidWorks certification, such as CSWA or CSWP.

Physical Demands:
