Position Overview
Bertrandt is seeking an experienced Analysis Specialist to support vehicle validation and launch readiness activities within an automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for performing dynamic and static vehicle evaluations during pre-series and series production phases, identifying functional, geometric, squeak and rattle (S&R), and customer-relevant quality concerns.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, a background in automotive vehicle systems, and the ability to document findings and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Vehicle Evaluation & Validation
- Perform Broad Validation activities according to established customer checklists and standards.
- Conduct Launch Readiness evaluations and document identified issues.
- Perform dynamic and static vehicle assessments utilizing Voice of Customer (VOC) criteria.
- Execute functional and geometric analysis of vehicle systems and components.
- Conduct comfort analyses for both interior and exterior vehicle systems.
Testing & Diagnostics
- Operate durability testing equipment including:
- Robots
- Climate chambers
- Control units
- Shaker test benches
- Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Evaluate launch vehicles on test tracks and four-post shaker systems to identify customer-relevant squeak and rattle concerns.
- Perform initial root cause investigations using mechanical and electromechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Inspect vehicles for water leaks and determine the source of water ingress utilizing diagnostic tools and analytical methods.
Analysis & Reporting
- Generate detailed analysis reports documenting findings, concerns, and recommendations.
- Document issues within appropriate reporting systems and communicate findings to responsible specialists.
- Validate containment actions and corrective solutions related to noise, vibration, squeak, and rattle concerns.
- Provide weekly SARTO status reports and issue summaries to management.
- Review and validate engineering analysis work submitted by process partners.
Engineering Change Management
- Review Engineering Change Process (ECP) requests.
- Complete ECP checklists and evaluate change impacts.
- Research engineering changes and collaborate with cross-functional partners to determine implementation scope.
- Communicate findings and changes to responsible engineering specialists.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Engineering or related field.
- 1+ year of manufacturing experience required.
- 3-5 years of experience interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Automotive manufacturing experience required.
- Experience performing mechanical and electromechanical analysis and troubleshooting.
- Experience creating technical reports and documenting validation findings.
Technical Skills
- Experience with 3D modeling software.
- CATIA experience preferred.
- Measurement and inspection experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of vehicle systems and automotive manufacturing processes.
Certifications & Other Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a BMW manufacturing environment.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
- Six Sigma training or certification.
- Previous experience supporting vehicle launch, validation, or quality programs.
