Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are cultivating a WARP Multidisciplinary Clinic and looking to staff Recreation Therapists to provide their services to veterans in our Rockville, MD headquarters. The Recreation Therapist is expected to perform the following:   

 

Essential responsibilities

  • Assess leisure interests, functional capacity, social participation and barriers to recreation.
  • Develop individualized recreation-therapy plans.
  • Conduct adaptive sports, wellness, arts, gaming, community-outing and social-skills activities.
  • Support emotional regulation, confidence, motivation and social connection.
  • Facilitate Veteran, pediatric, family and community-reintegration groups.
  • Adapt equipment and activities for mobility, sensory, cognitive or behavioral needs.
  • Coordinate with PT, OT, behavioral health, ABA and peer support.
  • Identify accessible community recreation resources.
  • Measure participation, quality-of-life and community-integration outcomes.
  • Maintain activity-safety plans, equipment and emergency procedures.
  • Support discharge planning through sustainable community leisure routines.



Requirements

 Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or closely related field meeting professional eligibility requirements.
  • Current Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist credential.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Valid driver’s license when transporting or accompanying patients in community programming.

The CTRS credential requires applicable education and professional experience plus the NCTRC examination. NCTRC credential overview


Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with adaptive sports, Veterans, autism, behavioral health or neurological rehabilitation.
  • Aquatic-therapy or community-integration experience.
  • Specialty designation in behavioral health, developmental disabilities, geriatrics or physical medicine.

Salary Description
$59,500 - $72,500
