Job Summary:


This is an opportunity to work in a metal foundry and welding manufacturing facility. Expected work hours will be 40 hours per week for a summer internship and 10 to 20 hours per week for a fall or spring internship. The position is focused on Safety, IH, and Environmental projects, including assisting with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the EHS Team with special projects as assigned
  • Create, update, and maintain safety related forms and documents
  • Conduct IH sampling under the direction of the EHS Leader
  • Assist the EHS department with managing and improving tracking systems and databases.
  • Establish and meet EHS performance targets and generate ideas for continuous EHS performance improvement
  • Assist with the improvement and delivery of existing EHS training programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment:

  • May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (Below OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels).
  • Safety training and equipment are provided by MPP in accordance with applicable law, industry standards and company policy.
  • Occasionally lifts up to 55 pounds.


Requirements

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Sophomore level or higher in OSH or IH
  • Self-motivated with the ability to initiate and complete projects in a timely manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT, etc.)
  • Legal authorization to work in the US
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English

Salary Description
$23.00 per hour
