Automotive Shop Assistant

Due to a team member promotion, we have an Automotive Shop Assistant opening at our Perrysburg, OH auto auction!  Experience working in an automotive environment that involved working with automotive software is preferred.  

Automotive backgrounds that work well include: Oil Change, Independent Service Shop, Collision/Body Shop, Retail Automotive, Automotive Dealership, or a related automotive background that involved working with automotive software.

Work Hours for Automotive Shop Assistant

• Full-time
• Monday – Friday
• No nights or weekends
• Monday – Thursday 8am – 4pm
• Friday is an 8am start time
• Friday end time varies based on auction volume 
• Typical end times on Friday are between 4pm-5pm

Key Responsibilities for Automotive Shop Assistant

• Enter part costs, labor hours, and shop charges accurately into the auction management system.
• Help open, update, track, and close repair orders for auction vehicles.
• Keep repair orders and vehicle information organized and up to date.
• Communicate with mechanics and the shop manager to help keep repair work moving on schedule.
• Assist with assigning repair work and following up on jobs to help meet auction deadlines.
• Contact local parts suppliers to order parts and check on delivery status.
• Track parts orders and notify the shop manager of any delays or issues.
• Help monitor vehicles scheduled for upcoming sales and make sure repairs stay on track.
• Track weekly auction sale units and help keep upcoming sale vehicles a high priority.
• Provide general administrative and organizational support to the automotive shop manager.

Requirements for Automotive Shop Assistant

• At least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Able to pass pre-employment screening.
• Some experience in automotive service is preferred.
• Basic understanding of automotive service.
• Computer proficiency.
• Good data entry, organization, communication, and follow-up.
