Longview seeks an experienced, dependable, detail-oriented Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, families, staff, and visitors. 


Reports to: Housekeeping Lead

Classification: Non-Exempt, full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 an hour

Schedule: 40 hours a week

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, dining areas, activity spaces, offices, restrooms, and common areas according to community standards.  
  • Perform daily, weekly, and deep-cleaning tasks.  
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, polish, and disinfect surfaces and high-touch areas.  
  • Empty trash and bio-waste containers as appropriate and replace liners.  
  • Replenish housekeeping, resident room, and restroom supplies, including paper products, soap, gloves, towels, and cleaning materials.  
  • Change bed linens and assist with room turnover preparation as needed.  
  • Clean windows, mirrors, furniture, doors, handrails, elevators, walls, and fixtures.  
  • Follow infection control practices and sanitation procedures in accordance with community policies and healthcare-related standards, including those of the New York State Department of Health. 
  • Interact with residents respectfully, courteously, and compassionately.  
  • Use a computerized work management system.
  • Maintain awareness of resident privacy, dignity, and comfort while working in occupied rooms and shared spaces.  
  • Respond promptly to urgent maintenance or environmental concerns that may affect resident safety (e.g., spills, leaks, broken fixtures, trip hazards).  
  • Observe and report unsafe conditions, unusual odors, water intrusion, malfunctioning equipment, or environmental concerns immediately.  
  • Follow all emergency preparedness procedures, including fire safety, evacuation support, and incident reporting protocols.  
  • Work cooperatively with nursing, caregiving, dining, and administrative staff to support daily operations.

Requirements

 Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.  
  • 1–3 years of experience in housekeeping, environmental services, janitorial, maintenance, or facility support preferred.  
  • Ability to use a computerized work management system. 
  • Experience in assisted living, senior living, nursing home, rehabilitation, healthcare, or hospitality settings is strongly preferred.  
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds. Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and reach throughout the workday. Push and pull housekeeping carts and equipment. Work indoors or outdoors as needed. 
  • Completion a post-offer, pre-employment physical and required paperwork.
