Meyer is a growing, family-owned and operated company where you are more than an employee number, you’re family! This CDL Driver position transports aftermarket auto accessories and much more from our own distribution centers to Cross Docks on our own fleet using a Dry Van Tractor Trailer and forklift.

  

PAY & SCHEDULE

  • $28.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Monday–Friday
  • Approximately 5:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. PST; schedule varies on operational needs.
  • Stockton, CA - West Sacramento, CA; including picking up backhauls.
  • Dedicated runs with excellent home time

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Safely transport and deliver freight in a timely, efficient, and legal manner
  • Hook and unhook trailers and properly secure freight
  • Install and remove tire chains as needed
  • Load and unload freight, including lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying materials
  • Load and unload trucks using a forklift, manlift, and pallet jack
  • Safely and efficiently operate a forklift
  • Complete required paperwork and maintain DOT-compliant records
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and routine equipment inspections
  • Report maintenance needs and equipment defects promptly
  • Follow all state, federal, and DOT regulations
  • Maintain compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Represent the Company and the transportation industry in a professional manner
  • Perform heavy lifting of 75+ lbs.

  

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 1 year of CDL Class A tractor-trailer driving experience with vehicles      over 26,000 lbs.
  • Valid CDL Class A License with no restrictions
  • Working knowledge of DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Ability to meet all DOT medical and safety requirements
  • Must successfully complete required drug and alcohol screening
  • Acceptable background investigation results
  • Ability and willingness to safely operate a forklift
  • Ability to safely perform heavy lifting of 75+ lbs.
