The Role
Inspired Technologies is a Florida-based managed services and security provider serving state and local government, education, and commercial organizations. We are hiring an Account Executive to drive growth across our cybersecurity and managed services portfolio, including managed detection and response (MDR), managed IT, and Tier 3 support. We run our own US-based 24/7 Security Operations Center and support regulatory compliance for our public sector and commercial clients.
You will find, develop, and close new business, then grow those accounts over time. That includes working with our engineers on scope and pricing, presenting to executives and elected officials, and adding services such as compliance, cloud and infrastructure projects, and related hardware and software as client needs develop.
What You’ll Do
• Build a territory from the ground up. You own the full cycle, from prospecting through close, against annual revenue and gross profit targets. The focus is new logos, but you'll also help grow a handful of existing customers where there's room to add services.
• Leverage our existing base for references and leads. Public sector and business leaders talk to their peers, and our clients serve as references.
• Lead with our own services: MDR, managed IT, Tier 3 support, and the professional services around them. Third-party hardware and software support those engagements rather than drive them.
• Grow the accounts you win. Map whitespace, run account plans, and attach additional services as the relationship matures.
• Run discovery that gets past the stated requirement to the real drivers: risk exposure, compliance obligations, insurance requirements, and budget timing.
• Bring engineering and delivery leadership in early to scope solutions and price them to win while protecting margin.
• Present to boards, commissions, executive teams, and IT staff. Write the proposals and contract documents that follow.
• Navigate SLED procurement and commercial buying cycles. Budget calendars, cooperative contract vehicles, formal solicitations, and private-sector approval processes are the terrain.
• Keep the CRM honest and deliver a forecast you can defend.
• Support onboarding and renewal alongside delivery and account management.
Why Work Here
• We're growing, and this role grows with us. As the team expands, so does the room to take on bigger accounts, lead others, or move into sales leadership.
• An established service portfolio with a client base that renews and refers.
• Direct access to technical and executive leadership. Engineering is engaged early, not after the proposal.
• Open territory and uncapped commission weighted toward recurring revenue.
• Competitive salary, benefits, 401(k), PTO, and support for continued certification.
What You Bring
• Three or more years of outside B2B technology sales with a VAR, MSP, MSSP, or integrator, and a documented record of quota attainment.
• Real experience selling recurring revenue: managed services, MDR, or security services.
• Evidence you can grow an account after the first win, with cross-sell and attach you personally drove.
• Executive presence. You should be equally credible with a city manager, a superintendent, a business owner, a CFO, or an IT director.
• Enough technical fluency to hold a room without an engineer: EDR/MDR, backup and disaster recovery, cloud, network and infrastructure, and the compliance frameworks that drive SLED and commercial buying, such as CJIS, NIST, and HIPAA.
• The discipline to carry a multi-month cycle without losing momentum, and follow-through on quotes and commitments.
• Comfort building territory rather than managing an inherited book of business.
• SLED experience strongly preferred, with the judgment and ethical standards that working with public funds demands. Stability in employment history expected.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred; vendor and industry certifications supported.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
• Office or home office environment with extended periods working on a computer.
• Regular automobile travel within the territory and occasional air travel; valid driver’s license required. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Occasional evening or weekend hours as client schedules require. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
