Human Resources Coordinator

Position Summary

The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting BleiStahl North America LP.. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; interprets and enforces the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Prepares and files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program; and writes and places advertisements.
  • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
  • Attends meetings and seminars as required
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Reports the work hours of all hourly employees and processes payroll on a bi-weekly basis. Tracks attendance, vacation time, and points, etc. 
  • Monitor employee time clock punches – follows up with necessary paperwork if needed.
  • Creates database programs as requested and needed for KPI tracking
  • Works effectively with team members and provide support as needed
  • Calculate and enter KPI’s monthly by the 7th working day of the month for the previous month.
  • Accurately track and ensure compliance with any OSHA and State safety required logs and safety communication. Assist in submitting, managing and tracking any workers’ compensation claims. 
  • Coordinate and assist mandatory and refresher safety training courses for new hires and current employees. Ensure accuracy in LMS (Paylocity) to ensure training dates are met. 
  • Assist in workplace injury or near-miss investigations, corrective actions, and enforcing safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in regular safety committee meetings and activities.
Requirements

Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in HR or related field. 2 to 4 years of experience required. Competent using office computer software. Automotive or manufacturing experience preferred. PHR preferred.

Physical Demands

Required to use safety glasses while performing specific tasks or while in specific areas of the plant.

Occasional lifting, carrying or moving objects up to 40 lbs. and regular lifting, carrying or moving objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Environment

Works primarily in an office environment with regular trips into production areas required.
