Description

As the Maintenance Technician - Finishing, you are responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing finishing equipment including anodizing lines and equipment, treatment systems, surface prep equipment,  powder coating systems, ovens, and supporting facility infrastructure. This role ensures that finishing equipment operates safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime and maintaining consistent part quality.

What you’ll do

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair finishing equipment including powder coating lines, curing ovens, anodizing systems, wash systems, pumps, conveyors, and filtration systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and consistent production output
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing issues related to finishing equipment
  • Assist with maintaining vendor relationships with OEM equipment suppliers to ensure equipment is maintained to manufacturer specifications
  • Work with production and finishing teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Monitor and support operator-level maintenance practices, ensuring daily cleaning, inspections, and basic maintenance tasks are consistently performed
  • Maintain maintenance logs, equipment documentation, and spare parts inventory
  • Help identify and track critical spare parts and consumables needed to keep finishing equipment operational
  • Assist in developing and maintaining equipment maintenance procedures and safety documentation
  • Participate in equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects within the finishing department
  • Support the Maintenance team with all facilities and production equipment maintenance as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, motors, conveyors, and industrial equipment
  • Basic understanding of compressed air systems, electrical components, and industrial plumbing
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues using standard maintenance tools and procedures
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance tasks such as inspections, lubrication, belt changes, and component replacement
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, maintenance procedures, and safety documentation
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain organized maintenance records

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining powder coating lines, anodizing systems, or other industrial finishing equipment
  • Familiarity with industrial ovens, wash systems, chemical tanks, filtration systems, and fluid pumps
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical controls, sensors, relays, and motor drives
  • Familiarity with industrial safety practices related to chemical handling and finishing processes
  • Experience working with OEM vendors or equipment manufacturers
  • Forklift experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to repeatedly lift 25 lbs and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for 10 to 12 hour shifts
  • Ability to bend, reach, and work around large industrial equipment

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing and production floor environment
  • Exposure to finishing chemistry, temperature variation, noise, moving machinery, and metal materials
  • Use of required protective equipment at all times
