Supply Chain Intern
Description

Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Intern will support the Purchasing, Sourcing, Warehousing, and Operations teams through data analysis, supplier management, inventory/purchasing trends, and continuous-improvement initiatives. This position will provide hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while helping improve efficiency, cost, and performance. 

The intern will work cross-functionally with Sourcing, Purchasing, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance to support both day-to-day activities and supply chain projects. 


Position Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing & Supplier Support
  • Assist with purchase order, supplier, and delivery-related activities.
  • Follow up with suppliers on open orders, delivery commitments, shortages, and corrective actions.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving material shortages and supply constraints.
  • Supply Chain Analytics & Reporting
  • Analyze purchasing, inventory, supplier performance, lead-time, delivery, and cost data.
  • Identify trends, exceptions, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Warehouse, Inventory & Material Management
  • Analyze safety stock, MOQ, lead times, and material availability.
  • Support initiatives to improve material flow from Supplier, warehouse, to point of use.
  • Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Project Support
  • Partner with Operations team on supply chain projects.
  • Support continuous-improvement projects focused on reducing manual processes, improving efficiency, and lowering costs.
  • Assist with cost-reduction, process-improvement, and supplier optimization initiatives.
  • Support new product development, supplier transitions, sourcing initiatives, and production-readiness activities.


Position Requirements (Knowledge & Experience):

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with large data sets, formulas, pivot tables, and basic data analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to clarify expectations and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Salary Description
