The Graphic Designer brings the Blue Heron brand to life through thoughtful, sophisticated visual communications across print, digital, sales, event, and environmental applications. Working as part of the Marketing and Creative team, this role translates creative direction, marketing objectives, and brand standards into polished design solutions that support Blue Heron’s integrated design-build business and customer experience.


Core Accountabilities

Creative Design & Brand Execution

  • Develop high-quality creative assets across digital, social media, print advertising, direct marketing, email, presentations, signage, events, and sales materials.
  • Translate established creative direction and business objectives into visual solutions that consistently reflect the Blue Heron brand.
  • Apply strong typography, layout, composition, imagery, and visual hierarchy across assigned projects.
  • Create illustrations, graphics, templates, and other visual elements using Adobe Creative Suite and related design tools.
  • Protect brand consistency by ensuring deliverables align with established Blue Heron standards.

Production & Project Execution

  • Prepare accurate, production-ready files for print, digital, signage, and other applications.
  • Coordinate file specifications and production requirements with internal partners and external vendors as needed.
  • Maintain organized working files, templates, and creative assets that support efficient workflows and future use.
  • Manage assigned work against established timelines and communicate proactively when priorities, requirements, or deadlines change.
  • Review work carefully for accuracy, quality, and completeness before final delivery.

Collaboration & Creative Development

  • Collaborate with designers, Marketing, Sales, Events, and other internal stakeholders to understand project objectives and execute creative needs.
  • Present concepts and design solutions clearly and incorporate feedback thoughtfully.
  • Support campaigns, sales initiatives, buyer experiences, presentations, and events with responsive and dependable creative execution.
  • Stay current on design trends, production methods, emerging technologies, and AI-assisted creative tools that can improve efficiency and quality.

The Graphic Designer primarily supports the Marketing and Creative teams while partnering closely with Sales, Events, business leaders, and external production vendors. The role enables others to succeed by translating objectives into clear, polished creative assets; communicating proactively about project status and requirements; maintaining organized and reliable files; and following through on commitments.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional graphic design experience.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Art Direction, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Working knowledge of Figma or comparable digital design tools.
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, imagery, and brand systems.
  • Experience producing creative work for both print and digital applications.
  • Working knowledge of print production, file preparation, and vendor specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and presentation development.
  • Strong attention to detail and visual quality.
  • Ability to work methodically, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Clear, professional communication and ability to receive and apply creative feedback.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, solutions-focused working style.
