Fly Alliance is seeking a skilled and professional Gulfstream Second in Command (SIC) to join our growing flight operations team.

As an SIC, you’ll work alongside the Captain to ensure every flight is conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Fly Alliance standards and FAA regulations. Schedule & Location

Our Gulfstream flight crews operate on a 17 days on / 13 days off rotation, providing a predictable schedule that allows you to plan your time both on and off rotation.


This position is East Coast-based, and candidates must reside on the East Coast. Preference will be given to candidates who live near one of our key FBO locations:

  • Orlando, Florida (ORL)
  • Opa-locka, Florida (OPF)
  • Teterboro, New Jersey (TEB)
  • Boston, Massachusetts (BED)
  • Providence, Rhode Island

This position requires extensive travel during scheduled rotations, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.


What You’ll Do


As a Gulfstream SIC, you will:

  • Serve as Second in Command and assist the Captain in the safe and efficient operation of assigned flights.
  • Coordinate closely with the Captain and other members of the flight crew throughout all phases of flight operations.
  • Assist with flight planning using applicable weather information, NOTAMs, airport information, and other operational resources.
  • Conduct appropriate preflight inspections and assist in determining aircraft airworthiness in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
  • Assist with fuel planning, weight and balance, load manifests, and other required preflight documentation.
  • Safely and effectively operate the aircraft in accordance with the Captain’s direction, FAA regulations, and Fly Alliance policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the aircraft, applicable FAA regulations, company manuals, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Communicate weather, turbulence, and other operational factors that may affect the flight, crew, or passengers.
  • Assist with the proper handling of passengers, baggage, cargo, and aircraft while at the terminal or FBO.
  • Complete required flight documentation and operational records accurately and on time.
  • Maintain required qualifications, currency, medical certification, and training.
  • Support effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) and maintain clear, professional communication with the Captain, Flight Operations, Maintenance Control, Crew Scheduling, and other operational teams.
  • Actively support Fly Alliance’s Safety Management System (SMS) and safety culture.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent Fly Alliance with the highest level of professionalism and hospitality.
  • Participate in ongoing professional training and development to continuously strengthen flight skills, knowledge, and capabilities.
  • Perform other flight-related duties as assigned by the Captain, Fleet Captain, or Chief Pilot.

What You’ll Need

  • Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating
  • Valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate
  • Must meet Fly Alliance and FAA minimum flight-hour and qualification requirements
  • Must be qualified and current for assigned flight duties
  • Previous Part 135 charter experience preferred
  • Gulfstream experience and/or applicable type rating preferred
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and professional flight operations
  • Strong Crew Resource Management, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in changing or emergency situations
  • Ability to successfully complete all company-required training and qualification requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must reside on the East Coast, preferably near ORL, OPF, or TEB

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • This position operates in and around aircraft, hangars, ramps, and flight lines and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, temperatures, and elevated noise levels.
  • Flight crew members must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including moving throughout the aircraft and confined spaces; sitting for extended periods; climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching; and handling baggage or equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Candidates must also be able to satisfy applicable FAA medical and physical requirements and safely occupy the assigned cockpit or jump seat with required restraints properly fastened.
