Location: Milpitas, CA

Salary Range:  $36.00 - 45.00 per hour


This position is open to candidates residing in U.S. states where the organization is currently authorized to employ individuals. Eligible work locations will be confirmed during the hiring process. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and maintain ongoing work authorization throughout employment without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.

Position Summary

The Business Systems Intern supports SEMI’s business applications and technology initiatives by assisting with system support, process documentation, reporting, data analysis, testing, and user support. The role provides hands-on experience with enterprise business systems, including ERP, CRM, document management, and integrated applications.

This opportunity is designed for individuals who are early in their careers and seeking experience in business systems, business analysis, enterprise applications, or information technology. The intern will work with business users and IT team members to learn how technology supports business operations and to contribute to practical system improvement initiatives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with documenting business requirements, processes, workflows, system procedures, and user guides.

• Support the administration and maintenance of ERP, CRM, and other enterprise business applications under the guidance of experienced team members.

• Help create and maintain reports, dashboards, saved searches, queries, and other tools used by business teams.

• Assist with data validation, data cleanup, and data quality activities to improve the accuracy and consistency of business information.

• Participate in system testing, including functional testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and validation of system enhancements.

• Support troubleshooting by gathering information, reproducing issues, documenting findings, and escalating problems as appropriate.

• Assist with preparing and maintaining system documentation, training materials, and knowledge-base content.

• Provide basic end-user support and training assistance under the direction of IT team members.

• Collaborate with business users, IT staff, vendors, consultants, and project teams on assigned business system initiatives.

• Research business processes, technology solutions, and system capabilities, and summarize findings for review by the business systems team

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.

• Collaborative, team-oriented approach and willingness to ask questions and seek guidance.

• Working knowledge with Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.


Education and Qualifications

• Currently pursuing, or recently completed, an associate, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Business Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.

• Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.

• Coursework, academic projects, internships, student organizations, volunteer experience, or other practical experience involving technology, data analysis, business processes, or business systems is valued.

• Interest in ERP, CRM, business intelligence, reporting, workflow automation, data management, system integration, or business analysis.

• Exposure to Salesforce, NetSuite, Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, SQL, or similar technologies is helpful but not required.

• No prior full-time professional experience is required.

• Cooperative, dependable, and team-oriented approach.

• Expected travel: less than 10%.
