Description


Job Summary

Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, with oversight from the Executive Chef, the Storeroom Assistant supports the club’s purchasing and inventory operations. Responsibilities include receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries; maintaining clean, organized storage areas; monitoring stock levels; and assisting with monthly inventory counts. The position regularly interacts with delivery drivers and back-of-house and front-of-house staff.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow club policies and the guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook and Orientation Guide.
  • Follow food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
  • Inspect incoming produce for freshness, quantity, weight, and condition.
  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming products in their designated locations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in storerooms, coolers, and the adjacent hallway.
  • Break down cardboard and dispose of it in the designated sanitation area.
  • Assist in identifying supply needs and learn established par levels, vendor product information, and ordering lead times.
  • Prepare and organize storage areas for month-end food inventory and assist with inventory counts.
  • Monitor inventory levels, communicate shortages to the Purchasing Manager, and handle club products with care and accountability.
  • Support kitchen staff as needed and complete other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Occasional exposure to hot, cold, and freezing temperatures, as well as inclement weather.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and hold a food handler certification.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Must hold a driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate honesty and integrity.
  • Maintain an outgoing, courteous, and tactful manner; treat others with kindness and respect.
  • Communicate professionally with staff and work effectively with coworkers.
  • Report to work on time and follow the assigned schedule.
  • Understand and follow posted rules, procedures, and supervisory directions.
  • Demonstrate initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting of 10 to 20 pounds.
  • Move independently throughout the clubhouse.
