Position Overview

Workplace Drivers report to the Oakland warehouse facility to load assigned company sprinter vehicles and execute the transportation and replenishment of goods for various Snack & Drink pantry service accounts. Drivers are responsible for transporting inventory to client sites throughout the Bay Area region, including downtown San Francisco, South San Francisco, Berkeley, San Mateo, and additional locations as operational requirements dictate.


Candidates for this role must hold a clean driving record and demonstrate outstanding driving ability and judgment, ensuring that all scheduled deliveries arrive on time and without errors. Drivers are expected to operate safely, efficiently, and with a strong sense of urgency across client offices, warehouses, and fast-paced, high-volume work settings.


Beyond handling the loading and unloading of various pantry offerings, Drivers may be tasked with assisting team members in on-site duties. These include, but are not limited to, restocking snacks and beverages across the office and back-stock areas, conducting inventory counts, brewing coffee, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for clients. Between scheduled deliveries, drivers may also need to return to HQ to support S&D Program Managers and the Director with receiving and processing snack and drink shipments.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Daily transportation of products, such as, snack & drinks, meals, and other supplies to and from commissary kitchen to client office locations throughout the Bay Area, including San Francisco, in a company-provided van.
  • Load and unload catering vans (500-1000 lbs of food & product) daily. Be accountable for properly checking and loading the van and delivering correctly all items for all accounts
  • Monitor time and temperature of food to ensure safe transport
  • Clean transport containers and cambros
  • Assist with the daily execution of cleaning/upkeep protocols of the assigned vehicle
  • Stock and organize all snacks and beverages according to Just Fare’s merchandising specifications.
  • Assist in filling orders at the warehouse as needed.
  • Ensure all other accompaniments are stocked, and assist the onsite Attendants with setup and cleaning of the coffee station including checking equipment, brewing coffee, etc.
  • Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment and fill out service logs as needed
  • Manage signage by ensuring they are clean and visible to the community, taking note of and reporting any additional signage that may be needed. Supporting with any printing, laminating and delivering new signage to client sites.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work/service environment
  • Assist with weekly inventory as needed, for every pantry item delivered by Just Fare within our online inventory systems.
  • Become familiar with client product mix and proactively communicate about movement of snack and drink products onsite. 
  • Check and properly FIFO product onsite.
  • Help uphold Just Fare hospitality standards, by being a friendly face and host within all areas of service, to create an authentic connection with our client community 
  • Send detailed end of service reports daily
  • Perform additional errands such as delivering food donations to community partners, equipment pick up, and occasional purchases from vendors.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • 2+ years experience delivery driving, and comfortable in downtown city environments
  • 1+ Year experience in hospitality, client facing food operation, with a passion for food and people 
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, communication and patience
  • Attendance and punctuality are required with schedule flexibility determined by needs
  • Ability to be a self-sufficient problem solver and make sound decisions on-the-fly
  • Basic Food Handler Certification
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
  • Basic understanding of online inventory systems
  • Experience with stocking and merchandising is a plus
  • Smart Phone Mobile device required for daily communications
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance, repetitively for an entire shift. This role involves loading and unloading from a delivery van, which requires bending, reaching, and stepping in and out of the vehicle.


Compensation & Benefits

Schedule & Expectations

Typical schedule is Monday through Friday with hours dependent on the service. You are responsible for managing your schedule, based on your shift availability, with your supervisor.

Shift details: Shifts will start between 4am and 5am, for approximately 4-5 hours
