Job Summary
The Sr. HW Engineer (Development) is responsible for RF hardware design, development, and maintenance of cellular (WCDMA/LTE/5G) and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth products. This position reports to the HW1 Team Leader and supports the full product lifecycle—from schematic design to mass production—while addressing field and production issues and performing regulatory and operator certification activities to ensure product reliability and market readiness. This position collaborates closely with engineering teams and global partners and offers opportunities to grow in next-generation wireless and Industrial IoT technologies.
Objectives & Responsibilities
- Design RF and baseband circuitry for 5G and IoT modules, ensuring alignment with system-level requirements.
- Optimize RF and system performance through simulation, tuning, and measurement-based verification.
- Support mass-production builds by troubleshooting yield, RF calibration, and other performance-related issues.
- Conduct development and validation using callbox equipment and RF measurement systems.
- Manage 3GPP, regulatory, and operator certification tasks, including documentation and technical submissions.
- Provide antenna and radiation-related technical guidance for customer projects and field issue resolution.
- Analyze circuit failures and root causes, proposing corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and global project stakeholders to ensure successful hardware integration and product performance.
- Document design specifications, test scenarios, and technical results to support internal knowledge development.
- Mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance and reviewing their work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in circuit design for 5G and IoT modules, covering the full product lifecycle from schematic to mass production.
- Experience in RF development for Cellular and WiFi/Bluetooth.
- Experience with global RF regulatory and operator certification processes.
- Advanced proficiency in operating RF measurement equipment such as network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
- Ability to work independently and in multicultural environments.
- Strong project management skills and goal-oriented mindset.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of wireless technologies including 3G/4G/5G, Wi Fi, and Bluetooth.
- Experience with Qualcomm platforms and RF control interfaces.
- Practical experience with EMS/SMT manufacturing processes and yield improvement.
- Experience supporting operator certifications across multiple regions.
- Background in designing complex hardware architectures or contributing to new product introduction.
