POSITION SUMMARY
The Operations Manager serves as the primary lead and point of contact for all events for warehouse operations at partner schools and properties in the region. This role reports to the General Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
Management
- Serve as primary lead for all event execution for partner schools/properties
- Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate Operations Coordinator(s) and hourly Installation Crew members
- Manage hourly employee performance evaluation process
- Develop and implement a daily "closing" procedure
- Communicate culture, morale, and job expectations with all direct reports
- Coordinate weekly operations meetings to assist with proper scheduling of hourly staff members and to outline operational needs.
Operations
- Partner with Operations Coordinator and hourly Installation Crew Members, oversee process including (but not limited to) quality control, inventory availability and maintenance, process management, and equipment transfers
- Ensure vehicles are properly equipped to perform specific jobs including loading, unloading and periodic maintenance inspections.
- Create and maintain regular maintenance schedule for all equipment within the region
- Develop weekly operations schedule while managing 6-week operations plan to ensure events are executed at or below budgeted amount
- Schedule and record hourly staff members work time
- Lead team during installation of tents, table, chairs, AV and other equipment
Warehouse Management
- Inventory/ fleet maintenance
- Periodic inventory counts for equipment accuracy
- Maintain a well-organized, clean and productive warehouse setting
- Organize warehouse safety programs and ensure that all corporate safety protocols are executed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Previous management or supervisory experience
- Self-motivation that drives individual results while being a strong team player
- Possess a high energy, strong desire to achieve top results with a charismatic, positive “can-do” mindset
- Effectively communicate in verbal and written forms
- Proven ability to manage and coach various levels of team members
- Knowledge of sports and the excitement surrounding in-person events preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach
- Manual dexterity to handle event materials
- Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including outdoor spaces
- Good visual acuity and attention to detail
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Combination of office and on-site event environments
- Fast-paced conditions during events
- Frequent interaction with clients, vendors, and large groups
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, or multi-day work assignments
