We are seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer with strong HVAC and mechanical systems design experience for commercial buildings. This leadership-focused role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about technical excellence, sustainable design, and developing the next generation of engineers.


As a leader on our team, you'll guide projects from concept through construction, mentor junior staff, collaborate across disciplines, and help shape engineering standards and best practices throughout the organization.


What You'll Do

  • Lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, and energy-efficient mechanical systems for commercial building projects, including office, healthcare, retail, educational, and mixed-use facilities.
  • Provide technical leadership, quality control review, and code compliance oversight for engineering deliverables.
  • Mentor, coach, and support junior engineers and designers through project work and professional development.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to develop integrated building solutions.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, project planning, and proposal development.
  • Support project budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, and overall project execution.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and evolving energy and building codes, including ASHRAE, LEED, IECC, and NFPA standards.
  • Continuously learn, grow, and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience designing mechanical and HVAC systems for commercial buildings. Preferred qualifications include 5+ years of post-licensure experience as a Mechanical PE. Qualified EIT candidates with relevant mechanical and HVAC design experience and a demonstrated path toward professional licensure may also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Strong people skills
  • Strong proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and HVAC design software such as Trane Trace or HAP.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable building codes and industry standards, including ASHRAE, IECC, NFPA, and local/state regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project and client sites as needed.

Compensation & Benefits


Competitive salary: $85,000 - $125,000 for a licensed Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE), based on experience. We will also consider qualified Mechanical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) candidates with relevant experience; a separate salary range applies for EIT positions.
