About the Brand:
Since 1941, Wiseco has been a leader in forged pistons and performance parts for automotive and powersports, from dirt bikes and snowmobiles to NHRA and NASCAR engines. Headquartered in a 150,000-square-foot facility in Mentor, Ohio, Wiseco is the only brand that produces pistons strictly using the forging process.
As a 2nd shift production supervisor, you'll lead a team of hourly manufacturing associates and oversee all operations in your assigned area. You'll work with the Operations Team to meet customer demand and the goals of our brands. You'll be accountable for your team's productivity, quality and performance, and you'll help them grow through training and continuous improvement.
What you'll do:
- Put safety first and never pass on a defect, no matter what leaves your hands.
- Work like a pit crew and bring innovation to finding better, faster and smarter ways to work.
- Supervise production associates and manage their work schedules.
- Train and develop your team and address performance issues.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and get your team the technical support they need.
- Lead your team in continuous improvement activities.
- Keep people and company assets safe and secure during your shift.
- Enforce policies and procedures, and handle timecards and call-ins when the focus factory manager is out.
- Take ownership of your work and look for ways to make it better.
- Help keep our workplace safe, organized and respectful.
What you bring:
- Passion for what you do and pride in your work.
- A commitment to showing up, following through and doing the right thing.
- 3–5 years of experience leading people in a manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma plus two years of specialized training or education, such as a certified program or technical or business college, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of gauging, measurement and quality practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication with managers and associates.
- Ability to manage several projects at once and see them through, with strong attention to detail and a team-first attitude.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
