The Pilates Instructor safely trains members and non-members in Private Sessions and Pilates Equipment Classes onsite at Cooper Fitness Center. Mind-Body Instructors are responsible for providing safe, effective, and enjoyable classes for members and guests of Cooper Fitness Center.
Pilates Instructor Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedules Private Sessions (Single, Duets, Trios and Quartets) directly with members and non-members.
- Provides individualized Pilates training for members based on specific needs and goals.
- Provides exemplary customer service to members, guests, vendors, and fellow teammates.
- Instructs with a variety of teaching modifications for different learning styles and levels of experience.
- Teaches assigned equipment classes and submits substitution requests as needed.
- Motivates members to continue to attend equipment classes and private sessions.
- Prepares equipment for private sessions and restores space to its original state after teaching.
- Maintains a positive, respectful and collaborative attitude and adheres to the Cooper purpose and core values.
- Maintains accuracy of individual sessions on the Pilates Studio Calendar including all client bookings.
- Ensures all changes to their schedule are made in a timely fashion to ensure accuracy and availability in the studio.
- Submits monthly Private sessions activity to Supervisor utilized for processing monthly payroll.
- Adheres to the standard operating procedures within the studio to ensure a safe working environment.
- Follows all Cooper policies and standard operating procedures.
- Completes duties with consistent, regular, and reliable attendance.
- Accomplishes other duties as assigned.
The ideal Pilates Instructor will possess:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Comprehensive (600+hr) certification from an accredited Classical Pilates training program.
- CPR certification required (on-campus certification may be available but must be complete within the first month of employment).
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
