Lonestar Integrated Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Control Panel Assembler to support the fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical control panels, power panels, switchgear, motor control center (MCC) buckets, and related electrical equipment in a controlled shop environment.

This role is responsible for building and wiring electrical panels according to engineering drawings, electrical schematics, panel layouts, bills of material, and project specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, experienced with industrial electrical control equipment, and committed to producing clean, reliable, and professional workmanship. Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, build, assemble, and wire industrial electrical control panels, power distribution panels, switchgear, motor control center (MCC) buckets, operator interface stations, and related electrical assemblies according to engineering drawings and project specifications.
  • Install and wire industrial electrical components, including relays, contactors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starters, circuit breakers, disconnects, terminal blocks, control transformers, overload relays, PLC and I/O components, and operator-interface devices.
  • Lay out electrical components on panel backplates with consideration for wiring, heat dissipation, accessibility, serviceability, and applicable electrical standards.
  • Measure, cut, and install wiring duct, DIN rail, wireway, and other panel hardware.
  • Mount electrical components using appropriate fabrication and assembly methods.
  • Lay out and install front-door operator interfaces, including pushbuttons, selector switches, pilot lights, HMIs, meters, and other control devices.
  • Perform point-to-point wiring, wire routing, termination, labeling, and wire dressing in accordance with electrical drawings, company standards, and applicable industry practices.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bills of material, and related engineering documentation to complete assemblies accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify completed wiring against electrical drawings and perform visual inspections, continuity checks, and quality-control reviews to confirm workmanship, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Assist with panel testing and troubleshooting to identify wiring, component, or layout issues and communicate drawing discrepancies or technical concerns to engineering or supervision.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations while adhering to company safety standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with production leads, shop management, engineering personnel, and other team members to resolve assembly questions, address drawing discrepancies, and support production schedules.
  • Follow all safety protocols applicable to manufacturing, warehouse, and electrical assembly environments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience building and wiring industrial electrical control panels.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical components, control systems, and accepted electrical fabrication and wiring practices.
  • Experience working with relays, contactors, soft starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor starters, overloads, and related industrial control equipment.
  • Experience building or assembling switchgear, power panels, motor control centers (MCCs), and/or MCC buckets.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bills of material, and related engineering documentation.
  • Working knowledge of UL 508A requirements and industrial control panel construction.
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements applicable to industrial control panels and related electrical equipment.
  • Ability to accurately measure, lay out, drill, cut, mount, wire, terminate, and label panel components.
  • Proficiency with standard hand and power tools used in electrical panel fabrication and assembly.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to identify wiring, component, and assembly issues and assist with troubleshooting and practical problem resolution.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a shop or production team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with UL 508A-compliant industrial control panel construction.
  • Experience with PLC control panels and industrial automation equipment.
  • Experience installing and wiring HMIs and other operator-interface equipment.
  • Experience with motor control centers (MCCs), MCC buckets, switchgear, and power distribution equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial control circuits and electrical systems.
  • UL 508A certification or formal training is a plus.
  • Electrical journeyman license or equivalent industrial electrical experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to lift, carry, push, or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. 
  • Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in warehouse or shop conditions that may not always be climate-controlled and may include heat and humidity. 
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements for extended periods. 
  • Requires manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and stamina to safely perform assembly and fabrication tasks. 
  • Must be able to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery used in electrical assembly and pre-fabrication activities.
