The standard hours for this position are Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm.


This role is 100% on site at our Headquarters location: 946 Quality Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720. 


Summary of the Position: The Associate Director of Clinical Affairs will be responsible for all downstream clinical activity and technical collateral. This will include oversight of Professional Service Veterinarians (PSV), Field Service Veterinarians (FSV), and key opinion leader (KOL) management. In this role you will spearhead communication between Nutramax, veterinary professionals, and pet parents. You will support the commercial organization in communicating scientific and clinical information through channels including training materials, product collateral, veterinary publications, and events. You will additionally advise the organization on product development and launch strategy driving execution through FSVs and KOLs. Success in this role will be measured based upon execution of strategic objectives, growth of focused products, and completion of targeted field activities. A successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of industry experience, ideally working for a manufacturer of nutraceutical or pharmaceutical products. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain standards for downstream scientific and technical content, including product guides, training resources, and RACE-approved continuing education (CE) programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging scientific literature, industry trends, and clinical research relevant to Nutramax products and ingredients, incorporating findings into technical content. 
  • Monitor industry publications and engage with key authors to build strategic relationships and expand content opportunities.
  • Partner with Innovation, Research, and Product Management teams to help identify and advise on research opportunities to strengthen product differentiation and clinical value propositions.
  • Serve as the technical expert and trusted advisor to commercial teams on clinical data and scientific messaging.
  • Develop and execute KOL engagement strategy aligned with clinical and commercial objectives.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with leading veterinary experts, researchers, and influencers to support education, advocacy, research, and product awareness initiatives.
  • Lead the planning and execution of CE programs, conference activities, advisory boards, and other field-based educational events. 
  • Lead Voice of Customer (VOC) initiatives to gather clinical insights, identify unmet needs, and assess market opportunities.
  • Translate customer feedback into actionable recommendations for Innovation, Product Management, and Commercial leadership.
  • Provide clinical and market-based perspectives to support new product development, lifecycle management, and strategic planning efforts.
  • Lead the FSV organization, establishing priorities, performance expectations, and field execution strategies that support Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), enhance customer education, and drive adoption of key products and commercial objectives.
  • Ensure effective allocation of resources to support strategic initiatives, educational programs, and field activities.
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide regular reporting on program effectiveness, field activity outcomes, and clinical engagement initiatives.


Requirements

Minimum Requirements:  
· Education: DVM or VMD preferred
· Minimum of five years of veterinary industry experience, ideally working for a manufacturer of nutraceutical or pharmaceutical products.
· Minimum of three years of clinical veterinarian experience.
· Required to work at Nutramax Corporate HQ in Lancaster, SC.
· May require up to 15% travel to industry events, veterinary schools, and veterinary clinics.
· Must possess strong organizational and leadership skills with experience managing teams.
