The Site Superintendent II oversees functions critical to the success of the mission – construction with volunteers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Leading volunteers on build days
- Training and scheduling Volunteer Skilled Supervisors
- Training AmeriCorps members
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and understanding house plans.
- Monitoring the construction process on non-build days.
- Leading the rehabilitation process for Hab II builds on build days.
- Assisting with construction-related inventory monitoring.
- Maintaining the tools and equipment needed for volunteers.
- Build relationships with homebuyers.
- Order job toilets, flooring, sod, plants, trees, pine straw as assigned.
- Key locks as assigned.
- Maintain Main Load List take off quantities.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- All skills & abilities acquired from SSIT and Site Superintendent I positions.
- Master construction techniques.
- Wall panel layout-on-site.
- Floor system layout.
- Roof truss layout.
- Steps.
- Interior doors.
- Cabinets & countertops.
- Roof: Hips, Dormers & Valleys.
- Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Able to meet deadlines and pay attention to details.
- Able to work well with all staff, diverse group of volunteers, homeowners, independent contractors and other stakeholders.
- Able to respond to emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Strong leadership skills.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; High school diploma/GED required.
- Minimum two years of construction experience.
- Minimum two years in a leadership role.
Physical Requirements:
- Position is full-time. Construction staff hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Tuesdays through Fridays, and 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on Saturdays. Some additional hours will be required to meet the construction schedule.
- Support departmental and Atlanta Habitat for Humanity policies and procedures.
- Attend weekly Construction Team meetings and all-staff meetings as scheduled.
- Serve as an ambassador for Atlanta Habitat, assisting volunteers and sponsors in obtaining any information they need to get involved on an ongoing basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Goals and expectations should be met with minimal direct supervision.
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds, perform heavy manual tasks, work standing or walking for a significant portion of the workday, and be capable of performing outside duties under all weather conditions.
