EXEMPT 


PRIMARY PURPOSE 

This position is primarily responsible for managing the Branch Support & Account Maintenance Department, ensuring all functions within the department are operational and compliant with state and federal regulations and bank policies and procedures. The employee performs essential functions within the department including but not limited to providing branch support, updating deposit rates, updating deposit specifications and providing Senior Management with updates and a variety of reports. Performance of the duties requires excellent organization, management, attention to detail, presentation and communication skills. 


The following essential duties do not cover an all-inclusive list of work requirements. Individuals will perform other job-related duties as assigned, including work in other areas to cover absences or otherwise balance the workload.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Manages the overall daily operations of the Branch Support & Account Maintenance Department ensuring efficient use of time and resources, compliance with department policy and procedure, and accuracy of completed work. 

2. Provides support and/or training to staff on products, and addresses areas of concern with corrective action. 

3. Performs software testing once new releases or updates have been implemented by Jack Henry and communicates any changes to Retail that affect the programs.  

4. Conducts research for changes or updates to state and federal regulation and develops policy and procedure for all areas related to the Branch Support & Account Maintenance Department due to changes in regulations as well as bank policies. 

5. Submits recommended policy revisions to Senior Management and Board of Directors for final approval. Implements policy revision(s) and disseminates pertinent information to branch staff via email or branch visit and provides copy of updated policy. 

6. Provides technical and/or operational support to branches related to new account setup and supplies education and clarification for all deposit product related questions.

7. Works with Senior Management to develop new product, implement guidelines, and develop relative policy and procedure. Works with Training personnel to provide training to all branch staff on new products, policies and procedures accordingly. 

8. Creates new product specifications on core system and new accounts system to include customer disclosures, branch forms, or other required paperwork. Coordinates new product rollout with Marketing.  

9. Updates deposit rates at the direction and discretion of senior management, ensuring core system and new account programs accurately reflect changes. Revises other deposit specifications as needed. 

10. Manages the department operational budget and ensures compliance with budgetary limits.

11. Processes branch cash currency shipments via Logic Path and Fedline Advantage 

12.  Works with Core Services to establish/revise core parameters for the setup of new products and maintenance of any existing products. Establish and test the new product or revised product in OnBoard Deposits for quality assurance, and effectively work with the Marketing Department to provide the necessary disclosure verbiage on any marketing collateral. 

13. Assists external auditors and provides requested reports or documentation. Receives audit report and implements recommended changes in policy or procedure in a timely fashion. 

14.  Conducts annual performance evaluations for department employees, submitting recommendations and evaluation paperwork to Human Resources.

15. Provides Senior Management department updates, reports, or financial information as requested.

16. Processes EOY tax corrections, ensuring corrections are accurately reflected on internal system and submitted to IRS by deadline. 

17. Assists with new branch openings and testing the teller/new account programs to ensure proper functionality. Establish new branch in the Teller system and ensure it is set up in Harland Clarke and FIS. 

18. Coordinates and documents Disaster Recovery Operations for the Branch Support & Account Maintenance Department and updates documentation for SOX testing. 

19. Oversees departmental applications including day-to-day operations with vendors, upgrades, testing, training, maintenance, troubleshooting and user access. 

20. Regularly refresh knowledge of and familiarity with online, mobile, electronic and traditional products and services. Regularly practice/rehearse customer conversation and engagement skills around the entire suite of New Peoples Bank products and services. Invite customer respect by demonstrating product and service knowledge and engaging customers around the benefits of using them.

21. Performs related duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited 2-year college with Associate degree in Business required, Bachelor degree in Business or related field preferred, with 7-10 years of branch operations experience, of which 3-5 years is related to management and/or supervisory duties; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. Must hold a current ACH Professional Certificate. Must successfully complete required training. 


KEY COMPETENCIES

-Ability to maintain moderately complex files, records, and reports.

-In depth knowledge of ACH rules, section codes, etc.

-Knowledge of State and Federal regulations as it pertains to our department.

-Ability to sell and promote bank products and services in a positive, professional manner. 

-Ability to effectively manage staff.

-Ability to hold and facilitate effective business meetings for 50 or more individuals.  

-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. 

-Ability to master job specific software and hardware components.   

-Must be available via telephone or email for branch and operational support at all times during banking hours.

-After hours work may be required for exceptional situations.

-Some day and occasional overnight travel for training.

Salary Range: $45,800 - $65,900
