POSITION SUMMARY
WireCrafters is seeking a Technical Inside Sales Estimator to prepare accurate quotations and layouts for OEM/integrator customers and our national dealer network, working with our automation regional sales team. The primary focus is estimating, project management, and customer service, supported by strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
This person will interpret drawings, layout expectations, and specifications; understand how components fit together; and help customers clarify project requirements. Technical understanding will support accurate quantities, product selection, and pricing, with Engineering providing assistance on custom applications and technical questions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review quote requests and customer layouts to define scope, dimensions, quantities, and pricing; identify and clarify missing information.
- Prepare quotes and revisions for accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
- Answer product questions, revise quotes, and support customers through the regional sales team.
- Coordinate with Engineering on custom requirements, product limitations, and questions affecting quotations..
- Process quotes and orders in the ERP system and maintain clear records of requirements and changes.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Office setting with low to moderate noise due to computers, printers, and people moving about.
- 8-hour work days – 5 days per week (Monday – Friday). Overtime required on occasion.
- Work alone or with other co-workers.
- Steady pace with set productivity goals to be met each day.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS
- Estimating or inside sales skills, with a strong focus on customer service and quote accuracy.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude; able to visualize parts and assemblies and understand how components fit together.
- Ability to interpret drawings, sketches, dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and technical notes to identify quoting requirements.
- Understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes and how material and product requirements affect estimates; metal fabrication experience is a plus.
- Attention to detail when reviewing RFQs, documenting assumptions, and maintaining accurate quote and project records.
- Strong math, communication, and organizational skills.
- Able to manage multiple quotes and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Gmail, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word, with the ability to learn and use company quoting and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- High school diploma or GED required. An associate degree or higher in engineering technology, manufacturing, business, or a related field is preferred.
