Direct Support Professional (Community Supports)

City: Albia, IA · Type: Part-time · Openings: 1 · Pay field: $13 to $16 per hour

Two weekday daytime shifts in Albia, about 13 hours a week. It is a good fit if you want a small, steady commitment alongside school, family, or another job. You'll provide hourly one-on-one support to adults with disabilities in the Albia community. Want more hours? Ask us about adding shifts at nearby programs and homes.


Shifts available

• Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.

• Friday: 10 a.m. to 6:10 p.m.

What you'll do

• Provide hourly supports such as meals, errands, skill building, and community outings

• Assist with personal care when needed

• Keep clear, accurate notes for each visit

What you'll bring

• Dependability and a patient, respectful approach

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

• The ability to pass background checks

Pay: $13 to $16 per hour.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

  •  High school education or equivalent; experience working with people with disabilities preferred. 
  •  Must possess bask knowledge of computers and computer-based programs.  
  •  Satisfactory results on background checks pertaining to criminal and abuse registries. 
  •  Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds without restrictions. 
  •  Successfully complete all new hire orientation checklist.  
  •  Satisfactory attend all required trainings by agency.  
  •  Successfully complete the established medication administration training and observe pass medications accordingly.  
  •  Must have access to a telephone.  
  •  Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and personal auto insurance as required by the State of Iowa and be insurable under the company’s insurance.
Salary Description
$13-$16 per hour
