Matrix Basement Finishing
Position Overview
Matrix Basement Finishing is seeking an experienced, proven Call Center Appointment Setter to join our growing team.
This is a high-volume, performance-driven sales role focused on contacting homeowners, qualifying leads, overcoming objections, and booking qualified in-home appointments for our sales team.
This is not an entry-level customer service position.
We are looking for candidates who have already demonstrated success in a high-volume outbound calling, appointment-setting, inside sales, or lead-conversion environment and can speak specifically about their previous production and performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Make a high volume of outbound calls to new, existing, and aged leads.
- Respond quickly to newly generated leads.
- Qualify homeowners using established Matrix qualification criteria.
- Follow a structured, company-approved call script.
- Build rapport quickly while maintaining control of the conversation.
- Identify customer needs and project interest through effective questioning.
- Handle common objections regarding timing, price, interest, spouse involvement, and scheduling.
- Confidently ask for and secure qualified appointments.
- Schedule in-home consultations for the Matrix sales team.
- Confirm appointment information and establish clear customer expectations.
- Consistently follow up with leads who do not initially schedule.
- Re-engage older leads and previously unconverted opportunities.
- Accurately document every interaction, disposition, follow-up, and appointment in the CRM.
- Meet or exceed established call-center KPIs.
- Participate in call reviews, coaching, script training, and performance development.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have demonstrated success in a production-based phone environment.
Qualified candidates should have:
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in outbound appointment setting, inside sales, telemarketing, lead generation, or a comparable high-volume call-center sales position.
- Proven experience making high-volume outbound calls on a daily basis.
- A demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding appointment, conversion, sales, or call-production goals.
- Experience working from structured scripts, rebuttals, and objection-handling frameworks.
- Strong ability to overcome objections and confidently ask customers to commit to an appointment.
- Experience working with CRM, lead-management, or call-center software.
- Strong computer and data-entry skills.
- Ability to accurately manage a large pipeline of leads and follow-up activity.
- Excellent attendance, punctuality, and schedule reliability.
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to take coaching and immediately incorporate feedback into calls.
- Comfort working in an environment where calls and performance are regularly reviewed.
- Ability to maintain energy, professionalism, and consistency through a high volume of calls and rejection.
Candidates Should Be Prepared to Discuss Their Previous Results
During the interview process, candidates should be able to provide specific examples of prior performance, including:
- Approximate daily outbound call volume.
- Appointments or opportunities generated.
- Appointment-setting or conversion percentage.
- Monthly or weekly production goals.
- Whether goals were consistently achieved.
- Types of leads worked.
- CRM or dialer systems previously used.
- Previous incentive or commission structure.
- Examples of objections they regularly handled.
Candidates whose experience is primarily inbound customer service without measurable sales, lead-conversion, or appointment-setting responsibility may not be a fit for this position.
Experience converting internet-generated homeowner leads into scheduled sales appointments is especially valuable.
Performance Expectations
This position operates with a clear performance scoreboard.
Performance may be measured by:
- Outbound call volume
- Speed-to-lead
- Contact rate
- Qualified conversations
- Appointments booked
- Lead-to-appointment conversion
- Appointment confirmation rate
- Appointment show/sit rate
- Appointment quality
- Follow-up activity
- Script adherence
- CRM accuracy
- Overall individual production
Simply making calls is not the objective. Producing qualified appointments is.
Appointment quality matters. Candidates are expected to qualify opportunities correctly rather than schedule appointments solely to increase booking totals.
What Success Looks Like
Successful Appointment Setters consistently:
- Hit or exceed production expectations.
- Maintain strong call volume without sacrificing call quality.
- Follow the Matrix script and process.
- Create natural conversations without abandoning the sales framework.
- Control calls and move conversations toward a decision.
- Handle rejection without losing momentum.
- Follow up persistently.
- Maintain accurate CRM records.
- Respond positively to coaching.
- Produce appointments that ultimately sit for the sales team.
This position is best suited for someone who enjoys competition, accountability, measurable goals, and performance-based compensation.
Compensation
This is a performance-driven position with compensation structured to reward production.
Compensation may include:
- Base salary + commission
- Appointment incentives
- Performance bonuses
- Production-based compensation
- Additional incentives tied to individual and team results
Top performers will have the opportunity to increase their earnings through consistent production and appointment quality.
Training & Accountability
Experienced candidates will still be expected to learn and execute the Matrix Basement Finishing sales process.
Training includes:
- Matrix products and services
- Lead qualification standards
- Call scripting
- Objection handling
- Appointment-setting strategy
- CRM processes
- Follow-up cadence
- Call quality standards
- Performance expectations
Calls may be monitored and reviewed for quality, coaching, training, and performance management.
