Borman Specialty Materials is seeking a Shop/Utility Associate to support day-to-day operations at our industrial chemical plant. This role includes shop/utility support, staging of materials and equipment, maintaining clean work areas, and performing additional facility maintenance tasks such as painting, basic plumbing, basic electrical, vegetation removal, and preventive maintenance assistance.
- Plant support & housekeeping
- Maintain clean and safe work areas, including walkways and staging areas
- Support spill prevention/containment and cleanup activities as directed
- Follow all site safety rules and PPE requirements
- Assist with general cleanup after maintenance and operational tasks
- Keep tools, supplies, and work areas organized
Shop & Facility Maintenance
- Assist with painting and surface preparation as assigned
- Perform vegetation removal around facility areas as needed
- Support restroom/toilet upkeep tasks, including basic plumbing repair and maintenance assistance
- Assist with toilets, fixtures, and minor plumbing troubleshooting under direction
- Support air conditioning preventive maintenance (PMs) and routine inspections/servicing (as trained)
- Perform light repair work on facility equipment and structures
- Provide light electrical support (troubleshooting/repair within scope and training; follow lockout/tagout procedures)
Utilities & Operations Support
- Stage tools/equipment and assist with supply replenishment
- Perform loading/unloading support and material moves
- Support utility readiness and routine checks
- Prepare equipment for service by completing basic setup/inspections
- Coordinate with maintenance/operations for staging, pickup, and returns of tools/parts.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, manlifts, backhoes, loaders, water trucks, sweepers and anything else as needed
Safety, Compliance & Communication
- Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and incidents immediately
- Complete required checklists/logs and follow plant procedures
- Maintain compliance with environmental/chemical handling expectations (as applicable)
- Participate in required training and maintain required qualifications/certifications
Required Qualifications:
- Safety-first mindset and ability to follow procedures and PPE requirements
- Ability to perform industrial support and maintenance tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Willingness and ability to comply with respiratory protection requirements when required for the job
- Basic ability to read job instructions/SOPs and complete basic documentation
- Reliability, punctuality, and teamwork
- Must have a valid Nevada Driver's License
Schedule
Monday–Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm with occasional overtime, weekend and on-call work at night as needed.
The salary is $27.92 hourly. Position includes full benefits commencing on date of hire including, medical, dental, vision coverage, and 401(k) participation. Benefits also include 10 paid holidays, vacation, and PTO.
