The Job
The evo Store Manager is responsible for all store functions associated with running a retail store, blending both a focus on our unique customer experience and best practices when it comes to driving sales and managing the bottom line. evo stores are far more than a place to transact. Service, a high-level of expertise and our core value, attention to eliminating friction between the online and in store customer experience, and “Invitation”, are the central pillars of the evo retail experience.
What you will do:
- Implement the retail store plan that supports evo’s overall strategic plan objectives.
- Communicate the plan to store employees and develop tactics to deliver the plan.
- Lead and direct the activities of store staff to drive product sales and deliver excellent customer service.
- Participate in monthly store manager meetings to provide consistency across all stores, lead selected store initiatives and contribute to the annual planning cycle.
- Manage store expenses and sales according to monthly budget. Address variances.
- Recruit, train, and develop the store employees by providing consistent actionable feedback, timely reviews, and ongoing coaching.
- Coordinate with warehouse team on new arrivals.
- Ensure store inventory is accurate and continually updated as it is received into store and sold/moved to other locations. Communicate inventory mismatches and updates with data team. Lead store staff to ensure store knowledge of inventory.
- Maximize store efficiency – use of selling space via partnering with merchandising, minimizing labor expenses, and developing metrics to manage team productivity.
- Maintain store visual merchandising and operational standards and ensure they are implemented on a consistent basis.
- Ensure that all company and HR policies and practices are communicated to staff and practiced consistently.
- Establish sound process improvement initiatives that drive year over year improvement.
- Represent evo in a positive and professional manner consistent with the Great 8 with an especially strong emphasis on “Invitation”. What you will need:
- Proven successful retail management experience in a complex, specialty retail environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and excellent supervisory skills: hiring qualified staff, effectively managing performance, developing future leaders and celebrating the success of individuals and teams.
- Proven ability to increase sales and margins– through in store sales management, goal setting and active coaching
- Financial ability – budgeting and forecasting sales, expenses, and payroll management
- Demonstrated teamwork capability – ability to build and develop teams, setting goals, and incorporating appropriate feedback from others.
- Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to: set store standards around communication through strong written & verbal communication skills, maintain open and positive relationships with store employees, customers and other internal and external business partners.
- Demonstrated understanding of the evo brand and a passion for the activities we foster
- Excellent customer service - demonstrated product knowledge and desire to provide excellent customer service that builds loyalty and credibility with the customer
- Aptitude for finding innovative workable solutions to business challenges and managing change.
- Work gracefully under pressure and meet deadlines required while maintaining a respectful demeanor. – Stress is ok, we just ask for humble, confident self-awareness.
- Not a requirement; but a preference: passion for the sports we represent; participation level is not a big deal, but passion is!
- Proven strong analytical and effective negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed?

The base wage for this role ranges from $27.00/hr-$32.00/hr. Where you land in that range depends on your skills and experience, and we also factor in internal pay equity. While the full range is listed for this role, we rarely hire at the top of the range, leaving room for professional and financial growth in role.
